There’s a vehicle mounted upside down at the entrance. There are warnings everywhere. If the mom is too stupid to pay attention, that isn’t Disney’s fault.

I’m glad you spoke up to warn them. The kids probably listened because they’re too young to have the know-it-all attitude the mom displayed.

People, this is why we don’t have Alien Encounter anymore. :)

So true!
I find guests are surprisingly unaware of many things. The old "when's the 3 o'clock parade" example they use in Disney school comes to mind.

I would like to see Roger Rabbit get some love in WDW, IMHO RnR is not the place for him. I think kids would be more attracted to Roger, than a wrinkly Steven Tyler.

I think all moderately intense attractions may be seeing more of these in the future:

Honestly, Marvel and Star Wars should have been a 3rd gate for DL. The crowds both will generate is not going to be pretty and DL unlike DW can't really handle big crowds at all. DL is awful when the crowds are bad. Sometimes you can't even move and get stuck in bottlenecks.

I think the only way I want to see Galaxy's Edge is a special AP preview party after the park closes and I have to pay like $150. Worth the price considering Galaxy's Edge is going to be a madhouse for years. And I am the world's biggest Star Wars geek and want to see it a lot lol But I just don't see it being a fun experience with DL's inability to handle large crowds. Can't imagine what that side of the park will be like at night with Fantasmic! going and GE open. It's such a mess now as it is.

Sorry for derailing the thread.

Did I forget to mention that I am excited about riding TRON in a few years? LOL
Yay, Tron coaster. ;)

Also, I’ll be at DL a day or two this week, and I’m already dreading the mid-afternoon crowd levels. In previous visits, I’ve arrived before rope drop and left at 5pm because the walkways were simply impassable (to paraphrase a certain doorknob).

Well you were questioning my ability to predict the future and I mentioned two things that are set to open in the future that aren't the best fits to Epcot.

Well, one isn't the best fit. No reason Ratatouille can't exist in World Showcase, especially in the current version of Epcot, whatever that may be. If it weren't a movie ... having a ride about a rat doesn't change the purpose of the original pavilion. If it were replacing the movie and taking over the front of the pavilion, I'd have an issue.

It at least takes place in the country it's being set in... Unlike the boat ride on the other side of the lagoon (and I don't mean the one in Mexico)...

I'm kind of with you on Ratatouille. The way I look at IP integration is "if the movie didn't exist and this was created from whole cloth, would it fit". I think an argument could be made for Ratatouille. It's a bit too fantastical for World Showcase, but I think there are far worse problems in the park (Nemo, Frozen, Guardians).

Agreed on far worse problems in the park. LOL. I think in terms of IP, Ratatouille is a good choice. But I can understand the ride lacks a bit, and Ratatouille not being everyone's cup of tea but like you said, there are far worse problems .... I also understand wanting a bit more realism in the attractions in World Showcase but I guess I can bend it a bit for certain IPs, lol.

At least this is a new build that expands the pavilion. If this lead to a partial demo of what we have plus losing IdF, I'd be mad. I'm glad it isn't another Frozen situation. Basically, if it's a new build and not another replacement then I'll keep my mouth shut.

Nemo isn't an IP problem IMO, but the implementation is.

Has anybody thought of the impact of the train going under the canopy? It does a number on DL's Small World façade and has forced them to just paint the part of the people mover track that goes over the train black. (Plus the whole 19th century train going through a futuristic computer realm).
I've been thinking that since the concept art last year. I was expecting a tunnel of some sort to the train from turning the canopy black. And I'm sure the people under the canopy won't appreciate being smoked out every 5 minutes (not heavy smoke, but the point stands).

Its purpose is to entertain guests who want thrill. Not a Space Mountain. I won't deny that it has the same purpose as SM though. But just because they are both thrill rides doesn't mean they can't be together. I mean look at DL's Fantasyland! Crappy dark ride, crappy dark ride, another crappy antiquated dark ride, and, oh wait you guessed it: more antiquated dark rides!!!
Where’s the thumbs-down button? I LOVE those crappy dark rides!
