Tron 2?

Tron would be awesome in TL...It could be a simulator style...so I'm pretty sure they could fit it in the SGE spot. You mount bikes like at the arcade...and it could be a 3D motion simulator.

Maybe they could make a dual track out of TTA and replace the buggies with light cycles. Then some people could load in a red cycle and some in a blue and race around TL. Ya right! :p

Plus I'd be kinda sad not being able to get my TL nap in when I go. :)

Off topic, but it reminds me....I wonder what happened to the Clive Barker movie/attraction deal that happened a few years ago. They bought the rights to his Abarat series, and did some concept work on attractions.....then nothing....

In an interview of Clive Barker, by Phil & Sarah Stokes in late 2006, Barker confirmed that Abarat will be a movie but not with Disney. Barker, citing creative differences, claimed "the work is back in my hands and my ownership"

I'd be surprised if Tron has enough fans to warrant a Park attraction. It isn't exactly a classic, is it? Cult-classic status doesn't count.

What happened to the mantra, awesome ride and great story trump movie??? You really thinking everyone who rides Splash Mountain knows it comes from Song of the South, or has even seen Song of the South, other than us Disney nuts?? :)

Thats funny because the trailer says Disney digital 3D.

I think the best idea to replace SGE would be something featuring Wall-E, something that actually takes place in the future, but I could see a Tron attraction taking MILF's place, and moving MILF to DHS alongside TSMM.

I think the queue area for the ride could be a replica of flynns arcade, then like in the movie, you are sucked into the world of tron, and then it could have multiple light cycles, and its motion simulator ride in tron.

Something like that.

I agree. It could even have light cycles on tiered platforms in front of a giant screen. Think Soarin but instead of being in a hang glider you would be on a light cycle. Or just rows and rows of individual simulators. Actually this might be a better fit for Disney Quest. That would sell some tickets!

Apart from Speed Tunnels, not since September 1982.

Does this include the Tron characters in MSEP?

I just want a speed tunnel in TTA where it goes into the Buzz/MI show building and maybe some walk around characters.

If an attraction could be done if should be in that building and not where SGE is now (not really room for anything besides a theater in the round attraction).

You kinda had to be there, at that time, and at the right age. If you were, TRON was awesome. My friends and I saw it multiple times in the theatre and played the arcade game for hours on end.

Same here, it was a fantastic movie for it's time, I remember playing Tron in the coin-op for hours as well. Another movie from that era that is underrated as well is The Black Hole. Loved both of those when I was younger.

I'm not a 70's or 80's born child, but I have ben able to watch TRON many times either through DVD or on the internet. But I must admit the original was definetely something reminiscent (sp?) of some sort of attraction at Disney.

A lightcycle concept attraction would be astounding if it was done right. I know many might not like my next idea, but what about replacing the Speedway in Tomorrowland with something Tron?

Anyway, cool trailer.

Well If not the Light Cycles, maybe the Light Car that has been posted in some sites.

But then a motion based attraction would be awesome too!

For anyone too young to remember that time.....I really don't see how the original movie would have too much appeal. I really need to go back and watch it.

Not really true, I didn't see Tron until I was maybe 10, and I continue to religiously watch it for it's fantastic story, stunning look, and amazing direction and score.

As for an attraction, I don't know, but I'm hoping I can buy an ENCOM shirt soon.

I do not understand why the Autopia is considered sacred. Scrap that land. It is HUGE. The one in Disneyland is SO much better anyways. They could make 2-3 great attractions in there and have it be Tron land.

I would have to agree with this.

Playing the Autopia-Devil's advocate here:
The Tomorrowland Speedway is in a rather unusual spot. It is indeed obstructive with a lot of land, but it does assure there always will be more people wanting to ride it because for the first timers, it looks pretty cool, especially for the kids who want to drive.
Also note that it's derived from a classic. From what I understand, there's an Autopia of some sort in every Magic Kingdom around the world because it has gained international popularity. I would like to see that area as something else, though. :)
