Trip Report Trip Report

Day One...

The night was sultry. Bags were packed. Gas tank was full. Wife was asleep. I sipped on an ice cold seltzer while pondering how @lostpro9het would judge me for not drinking a donut chocolate stout, but moreso I pondered an appropriate time to leave in the morning and head to Orlando.

Several hours later we were on the road.

Pit stop in Gainesville at Maple Street Biscuit.

We left Maple Street and we're getting quite amped up to be arriving at WDW soon and C decided to crank some tunes. @Zipitidoda aptly pointed out our music choice in my PTR. We'll done, ma'am.

Fun fact. C got a little too "turnt" and turned the radio up quickly and the speakers in the truck sounded as if they had blown. It's a new truck and warranty would cover it so we weren't worried but it still sucked. Kid N Play is our jam. Either way, we were in good spirits because shortly after, this was the view.

We relaxed and talked about the differences between DL and WDW and just enjoyed the absolutely amazing weather. No attractions needed. Just good vibes and good times in the bubble.
These are often the best moments of the trip! No pressure, no rush, just enjoying your time in the bubble, soaking it all in! :geek:
C noticed the columns and the intricate detail.
Inside the castle is incredible! The murals are so impressive with so many details! Thanks for pointing out all the details on the columns! It's fun to look and spot all the details!

Day 2 ctd...

We headed back to the room so we could get unpacked and also make a run to the store for supplies and by supplies, I basically mean booze.

On our way out, I noticed a sign in front of one of the stores and was hoping C wouldn't notice it, but of course she did.

Screenshot_20210403-110836.png

She shopped at a feverish pace. The CM pulled out the tray of charms and C pointed to several while saying "I'll take that one, that one, this one, etc".

Screenshot_20210403-110855.png

I think the CM thought C was a tire kicker and was just going to look at them. But once she pulled them out, C told her we were ready to checkout. It seriously was lightning fast since C already knew she needed these certain Star Wars charms. And I'm sure the CM appreciated the lack of hem hawing.

Screenshot_20210403-110921.png

Fun fact: C mostly collects the charms, she hardly wears them and if she does, it's only at WDW.

After Pandora we headed back to the room. Other people must have had the same idea because the crowds were pretty light as we left.

Screenshot_20210403-110955.png

I thought it would be nice to get a pic with the Monorail so I had C pose as it whizzed by.

Screenshot_20210403-111022.png

She said she wanted to get one with me. Then she decided to have some fun at my expense. She kept saying, "it's almost here, hold the pose", but it wasn't anywhere near. I was just standing there like an idiot with my hands up, smh.

We got back to the room and unpacked our bags and then C proceeded to properly clean the room. For those who don't know, my wife was doing "enhanced cleaning" looooong before covid was ever a thing.

She doesn't clean the room because she fears getting the flu, or covid or any illness. It's because people are disgusting. They don't wash their hands after pooping. They allow their kids to smear their sticky grimy hands all over the place. So we thoroughly wipe down all surfaces including doorknobs and handles.

Once the room was clean we drove to the Publix a few miles away. I can't remember the city it was in but it was very close. We passed Golden Oaks and then a straight shot down the road about 4 miles. Very convenient.

We got back to the room.and it was time for a drink!

Screenshot_20210404-102447.png

I decided to have an actual beer for round two.

Screenshot_20210404-102510.png

And for round three we both had another seltzer.

Screenshot_20210404-103720.png

We showered up.amd made our way back mover to MK.

Crowds were still tolerable. If you look at my face in this next picture I was watching the CM who was facing the other way and I wanted a pic with my mask down. Again, C thought it would be fun to toy with my emotions and kept stalling to get the pic in hopes the CM would turn around and reprimand me. Such love! Lol

Screenshot_20210404-102545.png

After our anxiety ridden photo op, we headed to PoTC. We had filled two water bottles with seltzer and brought them in the park (ya ya, I know, it's against the rules, blah, blah, blah) and we sat down near the stage to drink them before the ride. The weather was great and it was a perfect spot. What could go wrong??

As I opened my bottle, I forgot to open it slowly to release the pressure from the carbonation and it made the LOUDEST "POP"!!! . I look over and within a micro second C opens hers and again..."POP"!!!! Pretty much everybody was looking our way now. Time seemed to slow down as I looked around. I felt like Ralphie when the lug nuts went flying everywhere and he said "ohhhh fuuuuuudge".

We acted normal and took a few sips and I told C let's hightail it outa here, but casually.

We escaped to Peter Pan's Flight for shelter.

The funny thing is,
A) there is a teepee. I will get a picture of it tomorrow for you and
B) the Baldwins are actually from Massapequa. ( as is coach Bevilaqua but that’s a different show😉)
Fun fact:. I have been having a fun time for the last few minutes as I try out different pronunciations of "Bevilauqua" (with a New York accent of course).

It's kind of turned into more of a Kling-on accent now.

This may or may not be a bit of a surprise to you but not all seltzer is alcoholic.

I had a boyfriend in junior high who's last name was Bevilaqua... he pronounced it Bev (as in Beverly) il (ill) and aqua (as in water)

Now the biggest question is... will you finished this "Trip Report"

Day Two ctd...

We were hungry so we placed a mobile order for Pecos Bill. Our order was ready very quickly. We were glad for that but as we picked up our food, our faith in the once excellent meal from Pecos was shaken, or at least mine. I ordered the chicken nachos which in years past has always been fresh and a good size portion. This was not the case today.

View attachment 543986

This is the picture i took AFTER I added some salsa and moved around the extremely small portion of cold chicken and stiff queso. Trust me, you don't wanna see the "before" pic, and either way I didn't take one because I was disappointed and just wanted to make the meal somewhat enjoyable before it got more cold.

C ordered the salad.

View attachment 543987

She was kind enough to give me some of her salad to use as toppings on my nachos.

Yes, I could.have complained about the food and got a new order, but I don't do that. I'd rather have cold nachos than nachos that have been spit in.

Another issue at Pecos is that if you sit outside on the patio facing the walkway to PoTC, you're basically trapped. The doors do not open from the outside and there are ropes to prevent you from even leaving the patio. No CM to move the ropes either. after we sat down I realized I had forgot to get napkins and I was not able to get back inside. I had to walk over the rope and go around to the entrance and let them know that I needed to go inside to get napkins. We watched several other people go through the same process. It was like Bill and Ted's excellent Adventure when they see themselves from the past, lol. But seriously, I get the point of keeping the doors locked from the outside due to social distancing and keeping out people who haven't bought food. But now, the customers who HAVE paid for food can't get back inside and by having to go over the rope forced me to be right smack in the middle of other people trying to get in and get their mobile order and there was no chance to socially distance myself if I wanted to, which I don't care. But the point is that Disney's system to prevent certain scenarios actually makes it much worse. This will come back up several times in the trip.

After lunch we headed over to 7 DMT since the wait wasn't too long. @Longers status for our ride!

Collared shirt for the win. Fancy.

ah, thanks for thinking of me - been away for a while as I have “Disney I can’t get on a plane as none of them are flying” blues

but just noticed this tag.
Will need to find time to read as I always enjoy your reports (and photos). Hoping the phone makes an appearance somewhere. :D

So we got to the pool today and found out that my new friend, while terrible as a beer exchange participant, excels at training life savors. His “Drowning Victim” game was on point.

Should be another great day at the pool.
I hope everybody appreciates the crossover we are creating. It's like Avengers teaming up with X-Men!! FYI, I'm Thor.
