Today has been a good day! First, we didn't get the serious weather they were calling for yesterday! We had the potential for numerous tornadoes, large hail, and wind gusts up to 100+ mph. Luckily, we only had some moderate wind and thunderstorms! It is chilly today, bit the sun is shining! Second, I unexpectedly got the day off and made some nice Disney finds while I was running errands! I found these bird houses:

And these storage bowls:

And thus cute decorative bowl:

Anybody else in the path of totality? It was amazing to get to witness this from our backyard!

And afterwards, we took the kittens outside for the first time. Harry enjoyed it more than Cruell

That's pretty cool you got to see it. In my part of Wisconsin it was cloudy and misting. My students were bummed that we couldn't see anything, it only got mildly more dark gray.

That stinks! There was a chance we were going to have heavy cloud cover too. Luckily, it ended up being a beautiful day with just a few puffy white clouds. It sounds like there was lots of rain and clouds along the path of totality, so I am grateful that we had such good views.

We were in about 90% totality with clouds, but we did see several glimpses of it all covered but just a bit. We got the full totality in 2017 ( on my 50th birthday), so we were happy just to see something. I'll be real old by the next one.

Fun story: The family across the street ( great and very patient folks have 5 kids. Ages around 12 to 2.) They all had their glasses on and were looking up at the correct time. We heard the best stuff. From the age ranges we always do!

Top 10:

It's beautiful!
You don't see it!
Yes I do!
Where is it?
Right there.
That is the windshield of the car!
My glasses are broken and I can't see it!
I see it, but it looks like a tree.
Ok now I see it. That's it?
I think Mom and Dad made this whole thing up. ( It was very cloudy)

Edit: There are now 6 kids they have a 9 month old.

We were in the path of totality here, a little northeast of Austin, Texas.
It was overcast, but as the eclipse was waning, I noticed faint shadows on the ground, and put my eclipse glasses on to catch a few minutes of it, before the clouds totally obscured it again.
For comparison sake, I’m posting some pics below of total eclipse vs. after eclipse.
The pics won’t do the darkness part justice, as my iPhone really compensates for low light (probably the one time ever I didn’t want it to :hilarious:), but y’all will get the general idea…!!! :)
