Love love Wawa!
We had one right around the corner where we lived outside of Philadelphia (Ambler), and were addicted to that place.

I've been crazy busy and then left for a weekend in Stone Harbor. Thanks for the invites! @MickeyCB so glad Gary is doing better!
Glad you're here and I fell in love with Stone Harbor when I was in school there! Sometimes we would stay just over the inlet in Sea Isle. A little cheaper but would visit Stone Harbor and also drive down to Cape May.
Wonderful memories.
And as a western PA person I always found it interesting how when we lived in Philadelphia we "went to the shore".
But, if we left from here (Pittsburgh), we were going to the beach!:)

@MickeyCB , thanks so much for starting this thread! I'm so glad to hear that Gary's diagnosis was changed for the better! And congrats on the new little one! How exciting! And a big congrats to Seth as well!
Definitely an interesting couple of months for sure!
Thanks we're excited but I think it's going to be quite interesting to see how our little girl does with the baby, she seems a wee bit strong willed! (Don't know where she gets that)! 🤣
And yes, a huge milestone for him and the family. As @Tuvalu said something along the lines of let the empty nesting begin!

WAWA > Sheetz. 😁
I've never been to either. Are they Eastern US things? I remember when we'd go visit my mom's family in Illinois, we always liked to go to Ponderosa because we didn't have them anywhere near Wyoming. I guess they were all East of the Mississippi river or something? There are a lot of things we western US people don't have.

We're supposed to be going to Wyoming in less than 3 weeks, and the main reason was to take the kids to Yellowstone. I've been planning it for years now. First it got put off for Corona, now half the park, including my favorite (mammoth), is closed due to flooding, and the airport here is scrapping 30% of its flights in July because they have a shortage of workers and people are missing their flights even when they come 4 hours early to check in. We're not sure if we're going to get to go or not. But, assuming that we do, is anyone interested in pictures from the trip, or should I just make a TR in the ChitChat section?

Hope you get into the parks ok and the flooding doesn't affect your hollybob. Saw some drone footage of the main road in and all I can say is 😳

That was probably footage from the part that's remaining closed all Summer. The northern entrance near Gardiner Montana is inaccessible. The road is completely washed away in spots, and they aren't sure they are going to rebuild it, because it would be vulnerable to similar occurrances. But anything north of Norris and Canyon is staying closed. We'll get to see Old Faithful, and I think Grand Prismatic is in that Southern loop as well. Artist point and Inspiration point (viewing spots for the Upper and Lower falls) are right at Canyon, so I'm not sure if those will be open or not. So we're going to have to go back sometime to see the rest. But we already paid for flights and it's non-refundable, and E has to do a work experience for school in an English-Speaking environment, so she's going to work in my brother's restaurant. If it weren't for those two things, we might cancel. If our flight gets canceled, it's a moot point, and then we'll have to find something else for E to do for her work thing.

I'm not really sure what to hope for. On the one hand, Yellowstone might be less crowded if a bunch of people cancel their plans to go there. I've already altered my itinerary to accommodate the alternating license plate system, but there may be a lot of people who decide to just cancel their trips, which would make it a good time to go. And I haven't seen my best friend for 9 years and have been looking forward to this trip just to get to see her. On the other hand, it's kind of a waste of money if we're going to just have to redo the trip some other time. So now I don't know what to hope for. But then, who knows when Yellowstone will be completely open. If it takes several years to rebuild those roads or come up with an alternative if they decide not to rebuild, then I can't exactly plan another Yellowstone trip for next year if this one gets canceled. :banghead:

The first Wawa opened in Wawa PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. Sheetz is associated with the Pittsburgh area. All of this plays right into a friendly rivalry between the two sides of the State. 😉

Please do. We have seen footage. It is really awful with the flooding in Yellowstone. Lots of roads fell into the river.

Yeah, it's bad. I had had reservations in Gardiner and in West Yellowstone. I canceled Gardiner because I emailed the hotel and asked if they were open or cancelling reservations and they were cancelling everything because no one can GET there. It's completely cut off. There was a mudslide to the north, and then South is the road that's washed away. They had to evacuate people by helicopter because none of the roads were accessible. So I rebooked for a 2nd night at West Yellowstone. But then Yellowstone announced they are using a system in which license plates ending in an even number can get into the park on even days, and those ending in odd numbers can go in on odd days. So you can only enter every other day. West Yellowstone is another of those towns right on the edge of the park where unless you are coming from the West, you can only get there by going through the park. Which means we can't get there on a day in which our license plate doesn't let us into the park. But if we go through the park, then stay the night there, we can't get back OUT unless we go all the way around, through Idaho and down South again. So I had to cancel those reservations and book an extra night in Dubois, and an extra night in Cody, and we'll access the park whichever day we're allowed in with our plates, which we won't know until we pick up the rental car. It's less than ideal, but it's terrible for places like Gardiner who are now missing an entire tourist season of income because no one can get there and it's all closed off.

Wow is all I have.
Good luck and I would love some photos.
I haven’t been to Yellowstone since I was really young.

When did ECVs become recliners?

For the record he was the 4th member of that red shirt party above. As they waited to be called into the Plaza Restaurant, he lazily cruised around from Main Street to the Tomorrowland Terrace, nearly fully reclined.

I couldn’t help but wonder the reason behind his need of an ECV.
