The downside to renting points through a company is you are locked in to the dates and resort you pick. Check out each sites’ FAQ page for their exact policy.

Not to sway your dates but barring another unprecedented event, Disney parks should be fully back to “normal” (or at least its “new normal”) by next summer. Most attractions/shows that were to reopen already have.
Good to know, thank you. I think it would be safer for us to do Swolphin then...still a lower cost, but also with the perks of a deluxe.

Do you know if the voices of liberty are back performing in the Rotunda in the America Pavilion?

Good news on the Yellowstone trip. My brother said when he went to pick up his daughter from girl scout camp in Montana that he saw that the north loop is opening Saturday. I thought he was smoking cheap crack because they had said it would be closed for the whole season. But I looked, and he's right....it's opening tomorrow, and they are "suspending" the alternating license plate system for entrance, so I changed all our reservations back. I still don't think you can get to Gardiner, so I didn't rebook that one, but we have 2 nights at West Yellowstone, which is much closer than Dubois, or Cody. So yay! This means I should get my pictures of Mammoth!

No fireworks here thanks to our drought. Although they are calling for rain all day tomorrow so that’s good. The little town down the road from us did get permission to put on their huge fireworks show so we may go over there that evening!

I'm very sorry about your mom 😢
Thanks. It's been 20 years this year, so it's been a long time. She battled with cancer for a couple of years. When she died, my neighbor comforted me saying she was freed from her pain on independence day. And when I moved here, a friend of mine from Iran told me that in her culture, people who are born on or die on a holiday are special. They were too important for their birth or death to be marked by just any day, they needed something extra to mark the day. It's a comforting thought, but it's still not a day I can really bring myself to "celebrate".

But actually, the real independence day should be July 2nd anyway. That was the day they voted in favor of independence. The 4th was just the day they adopted the declaration. John Adams even wrote to his wife that July 2nd would be celebrated with parades and fireworks, etc. We celebrate the wrong day!

We have rented points and it was fine. We did buy the travel insurance for the points from the company. We most often stay at Swolphin. Love it
