Trip Dining Advice

I am going to Disney in June with the family including 4 kids, 17, 15, 11, and 9. Any suggestions on dining reservations would be appreciated. We are completely taken aback by all the options and some "expert" advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!! :D

1. What kind of food does your family like?

2. Will you be spending most of your time in the parks, or could you take time to visit different resorts?

In any case I'd make some ADRs now for any places that sound good, before they're all fully booked. You could always try to change them later if you hear about other places that sound better.

Happymom,
Thank you we will look into those today...and about Le Cellier it is excellent! I've been to a few restaurants in Disney and that is one of the best! Enjoy the pretzel bread!!

and to Lucky,
We are willing to try new things, just want a family experience with some good food and quality service. And I would like most reservations to be in park but will bend for a few resorts such as 'Ohana and such.

My favorites are Le Cellier and Boma. You'll definitely get great food there. And with Boma being a buffet, you get amazing variety.

Also worth mentioning are Rose & Crown, Crystal Palace, and Chefs de France.

Anytime you ask for dining recommendations on here you'll get dozens of suggestions because everyone has their favorties.

I would suggest that you do primarilly counter service (walk up) to keep your trip flexible.
Do one character meal such as Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's.

Good luck.:)

The counter-service idea does sound great but we have signed up for the dining plan because with a 15 and 17 yr old we expect them to want to be by themselves some so we'd like to join up for a nice sit down dinner.

So many to pick from, are you looking for characters, buffets, family-style or regular sit down? Are you looking for in the parks or out of the parks? Each person has their own thoughts and opinions.
Our family's favorites are
In the parks - Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern, Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, Sci-fi (lunch only).
Resorts - Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, Whispering Canyon, Artist Point, Cape May and we anticipate liking Ohana once we go

Well we are staying at the Poly so we plan on doing Kona and 'Ohana so our resort options are pretty much washed up we'd like to spend the rest of the time in the park.

Others that have not been mentioned are the coral reef and the restaurant in Mexico. There is also the Yacht'sman in the Yacht and Beach Club. I would also suggest any of the restaurants in the Grand Floridian.

I would absolutely suggest Sci Fi in DHS for lunch. And the 50s Prime Time Diner is fun for the whole family if you get a great waiter, I think everyone will agree with that! :)

It can be very overwhelming to chose dinning. Some of our never miss are Crystal Palace Breakfast buffet at the Magic Kingdom. Its a wonderful character breakfast great for all ages. If you can the Hoop de doo at Fort wilderness is a great show with wonderful food. It is a little pricey but worth the price. The espn club on the board walk does not do adrs but the food is so hearty and good. The Rainforest cafe for breakfast at the Animal Kingdom is great. The 50's Prime Time Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios has a great atmosphere and the staff really plays the role of mom and you eat with all of your "cousin's" in the restaurant. Good luck!

Hi! We'll be there in June, too! Here are our absolute must do dining experiences with a short explanation why they are must do.

Le Cellier
A lot of people say the popularity of this restaurant is hype. I, however, adore Le Cellier. It has a wonderful atmosphere, great bread, awesome steak, and charming servers. The dessert is yummy, too.
Liberty Tree Tavern
Thanksgiving dinner...need I say more? The food is delicious and the characters are so much fun!
Maya Grill
This one is at Coronado Springs. It is one of the best kept dining secrets in the World. The tortilla dish they bring out is great. The service is good. It's just quiet, yummy, and beautiful.
Sci-Fi
Don't order anything that requires fancy cooking. Stick to burgers, sandiwches, etc... We go here for 4 reasons and 2 of them involve ice cream. The milkshakes and sundaes are great. You also can't beat the atmosphere and servers.
Coral Reef
100% atmosphere on this one
1900 Park Fare
The buffet is actually better than the typical character buffet. You have to try the strawberry soup.

The following are our counter service favorites.
Pecos Bill's
Fixin's bar...yummy...
Toy Story Pizza Planet
Best CS choice in MGM...er...DHS
Columbia Harbou House
Sweet tea...yummy...
