Trattoria al Forno to replace Kouzzina by Cat Cora on Disney's BoardWalk

It's interesting what you say about Mediterranean and Greek food and I think you are right because Restaurant Marrakesh and Spice Road Table are not in high demand. Spice Road Table was always empty when we looked inside and Restaurant Marrakesh always has availability. I'm not sure about Tangierine Cafe.

I really like the Thai idea.

When you say a counter service option, maybe expanding the Boardwalk Bakery since that is the counter service option for the Boardwalk resort.
I think definitely giving the guests staying there more breakfast options would have been a good idea especially since they are a Deluxe resort. I think all the deluxe resorts have a restaurant that serves breakfast. With an Italian restaurant I doubt breakfast will be served.
Tangierine Cafe is fairly popular (because it offers large portions and 'different' quick service), but you're definitely right about the Moroccan TS restaurants.

The Boardwalk Bakery actually expanded recently. It's decent for quick service, but meal options are limited to pre-made sandwiches and salads.

Breakfast at Kouzzina was actually good, but it was usually empty. So if the new spot doesn't serve breakfast, I won't be too surprised.

I'm not sure the location was an issue for Kouzzina - it got a lot of horrible reviews. There definitely seemed to be some issues at that restaurant. I only dined there once, for breakfast and thought it was good.

But you do raise a valid point that the BoardWalk is not the easiest place for some guests to get to. Or at least they think it isn't.
I think Boardwalk area is a hidden gem. I don't think Disney markets Boardwalk, probably since signature dining is an adult "attraction''. For guests not staying at a Epcot resort, its out of sight out of mind.

Sounds like a good concept for there, I walked past Kouzzina when I was down last year and looked at the menu didn't really look all that interesting, I had dined at Spoodles years ago and really don't even remember what I had or how the food was, this sounds like a safe bet as far as food goes, I honestly wish they would do something with Tony's Town Square as well since that food is ummmm, pretty blah

I know someone mentioned a Brazilian resturant earlier and would love that at Disney. I would just hate to see how much it would be bc most are around 50 dollars a person around me.

Me too. They can be pricey outside of Disney. So I wonder...

Italian is a safe choice because Disney knows people will pay for it. Chinese would be another safe choice but I don't understand the fascination with Chinese food. I, personally would love to try some Scandinavian food and good German food.

Personally, very disappointing. Disney should be expanding guests options, not duplicating things that are already available. Also, I really enjoyed Kouzzina. The fisherman's stew and whole snapper where some of the best dishes I've ever had in Disney World. The Boardwalk area is my favorite on property. I wish there were better dining options. Flying Fish is delicious, but the prices are absurd. Big river has above average beer, and below average food (and it smells inside). I've been getting lobster rolls from the bakery recently and just drinking at Big River.

This makes great business sense though. Extremely low food cost = huge profits. What does it cost to make a pizza? $2 -$3? They sell them for around $30. The same goes with pasta dishes. I've noticed Via Napoli is filled almost every night. Its very difficult to get a reservation. I think they are planning on having some carryover. Disney wanted a safe bet. They got one. Guaranteed success.

I knew it would be Italian. I was hoping it would be family style. We have a lot of Italian restaurants that serve family style food. Also it would have made it slightly different than the other Italian restaurants.
They have so many... Overpriced too..
Portobellos
Via Napoli
Tutto Italia
Mama Melrose
Tony's
Il Mulino
And the pizza window... Too much.
I'm from Jersey, I could eat Italian food all year long! But it has to be done right.
I think it would have been nice to see a new cuisine take over but they were trying to stay within the theme of AC I guess.

Disney stick with the theme of a hotel. Crazy.

A lot of Portuguese, Irish and French in New England and yet no restaurants in the Yacht and Beach Club. Not saying that they would work, just saying that Disney doesn't stick with the themes sometimes.

Another pizza place? I like pizza just as much as the next guy but this trend is being repeated too much. With that said, expensive pizza places are not my thing anyway. I am fine with the pizza at pizza planet at at sports.

Silly question but I will ask it anyway because I want to know. Does anyone know of any Italian restaurants that serve breakfast? I don't but that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. I would think it would be a lot like Kouzzina's breakfast with an emphasis on espresso, dark roasted coffee, cappuccino, pastries, and lemon infused goodness.

I've not heard of one.

Italian breakfast would be pretty nice to have as an option though!
