Transformers - What did you think?

I rode it for the first time a few weeks ago and felt very much like the OP. I think the Spiderman ride is one of the best rides in the world, and I don't even know or care that much about Spiderman (have only seen two of the films). I went into Transformers expecting something similar and walked away kind of underwhelmed. I don't know much about Transformers, but the ride seemed confusing and I had a hard time getting my head into the story of what was going on. As a result the ride just seemed very... loud?... and just very visually overwhelming, in not necessarily a good way. I feel like it needed better pacing, more room to breathe, and less sensory and information overload. Spiderman seemed in general a more elegant ride experience, with a better soundtrack and cinematic feel.
Yes! This is what I'd have said if I were better able to express myself. :)

We went on Transformers in November and loved it. We also were amazed at Spiderman since they changed the film. It looks 100% better. I will add that the queue in Trans. is so much better conceived than Spiderman's which to me is absolute garbage. It is so bland and the video playing are horrible.

Never seen the films, but although it looked great, it wasn't as good as the Spiderman ride. Just a load of robots trying to smash up other robots for no explained reason.

I like Transformers better than Spiderman, but that may be because I also love the Transformers movies. Although I do like the fire effect better in Spiderman.

This whole movement towards "Simulator" rides is a little overdone. Spiderman was unique because of it but not every new great ride has to be like that. They can give you headaches at times and that isn't good. I rode it last year at Universal Hollywood and it really didn't show anything new. Give me more of the old school rides anyday. Jurassic for example is still a much better ride.

While I disagree about rides such as JPRA being better, Transformers is admittedly redundant. But it's important to remember that it wasn't originally planned for the Orlando market, only the ones without Spider-Man. It was opened here only to tap into its previous successes elsewhere. So it isn't a premeditated movement towards a certain type of ride, it's a further utilization of what's proven to work. And like it or not, people have shown a continued interest.

I'd personally like to see less use of screens and/or 3D in new attractions, but overall, I don't think anyone can honestly find much fault in Universal's use of technology in their recent developments. Despite covering old ground with Transformers, they're still innovating much more than their competitors.

We went shortly before Christmas (first time since we let our AP's sunset 2 years ago), and I was actually surprised what a solid attraction it was. I wasn't initially one that thought this was a good idea, as I thought it was just a re-skin of Spiderman next door.

Personally, I thought it did a great job conveying scope (ie, when Optimus kneels down and fills the whole screen), and felt more in the middle of the action. The sensation of driving fast was unique to the attraction. I thought the film and 3D was impeccable (though, I haven't been on Spiderman since the upgrade, so it might be able to say the same now).

While Spiderman will always hold a special place in my heart, personally, I think Transformers is a better attraction in all senses of the word.

I give Uni 1000% credit for building this.
However I did get motion sickness on this. I also thought the screens looked fuzzy. Maybe cuz of motion sickness lol?

For those prone to simulator induced motion sickness, I would think twice.
