Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

Don’t forget C) Cynthia Harris refusing a 10% budget increase to bank the turns.

The timing doesn't work as Cynthia Harris was named as Disneyland president in 1998. She was working at the Disney Stores beforehand according to my research and I am not sure how she could have refused the budget increase before opening.

There was work done on the ride during the summer of 1998, but it would have taken a lot more than 10% to fix the tunnel clearance issues and structural problems.

The current plan is to manage capacity in the land for as long as it is required which to me sounds like through summer.
Aww cool. I’m going again in October so fingers crossed. Does anyone know if they are using the mission equipment as Spider-Man exit still or if people can go into the shop from the street side

Unsure. I haven't heard anything about a queue for Mission Equipment so at a guess I'd say it's exit only.
As of today you’re able to enter the store via the “exit”

Any idea when Premier Access will be available for Avengers Campus? They have already the entrances but you can‘t book it yet.

Quite annoying to see that they already had to rope off the base of the Quinjet Platform. While you could argue that the parents should take better care of their kids, I think Disney should also consider adding some playground to WDS.

I remember as a kid how I loved the Honey, I Shrunk The Kids Set Adventure at Disney MGM Studios. There is enough expansion space in WDS. It should not cost a fortune and take too much time to add some activity area for the younger ones themed to PYM Technology, Spider-Man, etc. OR Toy Story - if located in that Pixar Area.

Polish it.

Then oil it.

As Jim Clark (a former Imagineer) said on a Twitter thread asking how to resolve/prevent this: "Fountain", which isn't a bad idea. At least there's a "wet space" to complement the green spaces...

Found this article interesting, it’s in French but your browser should be able to translate it automatically.

It mentions that both Disneyland Paris management and Walt Disney Company executives are not happy with the finished result of the main show on Avengers Assemble: Flight Force. The issue comes from the very nice queue and preshow, which leads to a very poor main show.

WDI and the people involved are throwing the blame around, with "lack of funds" mentioned. That makes me laugh, as WDI would be given 10 million dollars to install a single screen and create content and you'd get neither since they'd spend a million on trip research, 5 millions on how to create a new style of screen and finally, you'd have pennies left to do the actual job. Then, they'd run up to management and demand extra money.

Back to Flight Force, the article mentions that the comparisons with Cosmic Rewind at Epcot show that the WDW ride is a lot more immersive and successful in execution. They don't have all the details, but they mention adding screens, improving the existing ones and adding various effects are studied. Timeline to do the improvements are speculated to be around january/march 2023. Can DLP force the WDI glacier to move that quickly?

I'll actually be pleasantly surprised if this is true and they do plus this attraction so quickly as they didn't think it was quite up to scratch. That seems kind of like the old Disney we all loved!
The fact that Bob Chapek was apparently unimpressed with Flight Force is astounding. You’d think that he’d be fine with the cheapness of the ride experience itself but no…

Take it with a pinch of salt on the scale. Some plussing might get it there.

Ratatouille opened and there were rumours almost immediately of TWDC execs being annoyed and it needing mega fixes. Which never came.

Same deal with the Cars themed version of the Tram Tour.

Same with Hyperspace Mountain.

Ive read for a long time that management in Paris have been very invested and passionate in their version of Avengers Campus and theirs being the best. That I really welcome that they want to improve Flight Force. Ultimately, if they are just needing to add screens along the track, the coaster takes care of the rest, no matter how old it is.

Ive always found that with Paris, they would rather spend money on refurbs and maintaining the quality of what they have rather than stick a new ride in all the time which CA seems more willing to do. I admire them a lot for that.
