And Seven Dwarf's Mine Train is a disappointment as 40% of the coaster was budget cut...Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a much better themed junior coaster than this IMO. It's also twice as long.

so I think the money has just been saved by Disney
DLP never had a budget for the coaster... it was never in the Frozen plans? They haven't saved anything on Frozen?I find it hard to believe the money saved on the coaster will have anything to do with the budget they ultimately approve

But that's kind of the point about why I don't understand being happy about them not spending the money to build this. Them 'saving' the money on this didn't result in any extra attractions, it's just not there.DLP never had a budget for the coaster... it was never in the Frozen plans? Absolutely agree it’s short sighted, since the barrier of entry to making an attraction in the first place is so high, might as well make it good. That coaster is shockingly short, it’s wild how Disney will spend hundreds of millions on beautiful scenery and theming and then skimp on the actual ride length to save a million or two. They did it with 7DMT, they did it with Slinky, and now they’ve done it with this. That few million saved will mean nothing over the 30+ year life of these rides. It’s such short sighted thinking.
The original slinky also had elevation changes where it would go "underground", under pedestrian bridges and ditches (seemingly dug up by Andy) in the mounds of dirt. I'd imagine that also brought up the costs a lot, hence why it was easily cut by Disney.Absolutely agree it’s short sighted, since the barrier of entry to making an attraction in the first place is so high, might as well make it good.
That said, it wouldn’t cost an extra million or two to double this coaster’s length. Nor would it cost an extra million or two to make slinky longer (but they absolutely should’ve made slinky and this longer), but the cost per foot on this ride and 7DMT are very high, so it’s not that cheap to make it that much longer. As for slinky, it literally has no excuse, because it doesn’t have much dressing up around it’s existing track.
We recently returned from a trip as well and I don’t know how anyone could justify DLP getting a third park before Studios gets a complete makeover.Having just got back from what was my technically my second visit but the first since WDSP opened, I can’t help but think if they’re serious about increasing visitor numbers to the Studios then they need to resurrect the Galaxy Edge “lite” land.
Obviously Marvel has a huge following and Arendelle will appeal to the Disney Princess fandom, but Star Wars has a universal fan base of all generations that shows no sign of abating. The Lion King is popular but it’s not going to attract new visitors in the way that Star Wars will.
And the park desperately needs this expansion asap. Sad to think it should have been ready for next year. There is absolutely nothing attractive about the park at all right now IMO. It’s a mishmash of buildings and concrete. And yes, I did read the article and why it was designed like that but other than the small TSL and Remy courtyard the rest is just drab.

I still feel a bit sceptical about a Lion King land as I just don't see how you can build one that functions as part of a working theme park and is faithful to the world of the film, but I am interested to see what they have come up with if that ends up being the second new land.Selfishly I'm more interested in the Lion King concept as we've already done Galaxy's Edge and a lesser version, despite having Rise, doesn't really elevate the park in my eyes.
Their gutting of this parks refresh was a huge mistake, however. We're kind of getting the outlay of a much better park, without any of the pieces actually put in place. Oddly, the half failed Epcot refresh may actually have given us more.
