Tramway project and security relocation at TTC.

Yes, will have to wait and see. Nothing a little fencing can't solve.:hilarious:

It wouldn't be hard. The entrance is already practically there. Exit would require a bit more movement. Nothing a fenced-in walkway cannot handle.

For the monorail loop, based on the threads the monorail stops would be screened, the walking path from Contemporary/Bay Lake would be screened at the park, and the boat launches could possibly be screened at the docks or MK. Has anyone heard about the walk from the Poly to the TTC? Would that have a separate screening line or would you go through with the folks arriving from the trams etc?

Just saw Kenny279 ask the same thing.

Yes, not much effort really Just joking with pic. My guess would be that they could create a fenced walkway from Monorail Exit at EPCOT along the left side of current bag screening already by Monorail station. It could then just enter right there beside current bag check under monorail station and empty out behind the screening area.

Security updates going in effect starting Monday, April 3.

Excerpts from the Orlando Sentinel, Wednesday, March 29, 2017: "Disney will move some of its metal detectors.
Visitors to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom will go through metal detectors and get bags checked at the Transportation and Ticket Center starting Monday.
The center, commonly known as the TTC, is a major hub for Magic Kingdom visitors. People driving to the Magic Kingdom park at TTC, then board monorails or ferries to cross Seven Seas Lagoon and reach the attraction. Guests arriving at Magic Kingdom via the monorail or ferry won't have to go through security once they get to the theme park itself. However, the Magic Kingdom will still have some bag checks and metal detectors for visitors arriving by other transportation, such as buses.
Also beginning April 3, guests staying at Disney's Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Polynesian resorts will begin going through security at the resorts' monorail stations.
In an emailed statement, Disney called the new procedures part of "an ongoing effort to enhance the arrival experience for guests at the entrance to Magic Kingdom Park." "

I just read about this. On one hand, it moves security from one main location, to many smaller ones. I hate security, but it's not ever going to go away. WDW is often described as a "Bubble" where the outside world is not present. True most of the time, except for security, and the reasons for which it is done in the first place.

If they are going to continue with security this is good news. The bag checks and crowds are really ugly and have become a security risk themselves.

A person with bad intentions doesn't need to get into the park to do the most damage. Heck they just need to be on property for the news to report tragedy at Disney world, and their agenda is complete.

I don't believe bag screenings do anything substantial but it is better to not amass large crowds.

I would think so.

This is where magicbands can shine. Make the resort monorail accessible only to guests and those with dinner reservations. Others guests shouldn't be loitering about the grounds anyway. I know that would be controversial but people pay top dollar for those amenities and shouldn't have to deal with the crowds that now wander about.

Never happen. The resorts have stores. Anything that interferes will the ability to sell something will be stopped in its tracks.

Will there be security for the Contemporary walking trial?

If all your profit is going to add screeners at the monorails and boat transports than rethinking resort access might not be impossible. Will be very interesting to see how this unfolds.
