Traces of history that shouldn't be there

Pleasure Island - Downtown Disney- Outside the entrance areas to the Pleasure Island district still sit the ticket sale cabooses where guests would by admission tickets.

Captain EO-Near the jumping fountains and between the entrance and exit of the attraction is an unused gift shop.

To add to the Pleasure Island ticket booths, the cabooses used to be the actual passenger cars from the Fort Wilderness train.

The store you speak of between Captain EO's entrance and exit was used as Figments M&G back in the day! I think it finally closed in 2007.

The thought of her still being there creeps me out. Has anyone managed to get a flash photo up there? There's a massive structure too which I think must house the projector but I'm sure a projector ain't that big...

Are you talking about the pre-Skype Japanese girl?

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - She 2009 post-show modifications to Space Mountain included references to both Horizons and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Additionally there is a homage to the attraction both in the tree formerly located in Pooh's Playful spot (sub engraved inside) as well as Little Mermaid (sub engraved in rock). Additionally, one of the old subs was sunk by Castaway Cay (but I believe has since been removed).

Not the only homage to 20k in Little Mermaid. Listen closely to the music in the queue; you'll hear an instrumental version of "Whale of a Tale", the song Kirk Douglas performed in the movie.

Another Backlot Tour item- I've seen props from the Adventurer's Club.

Behind BTMRR is this

hidden little gem. While it's not related to a prior attraction, it's still a neat little masonic reference

What does it say? Something working tools?
H. Abiff's working tools refers to Hiram Abiff and the working tools of a master mason. the trowel, square, compass and gavel, which you may notice on the side of the crate as well. This is the only masonic reference I've noticed in the parks. I've just always found it odd that's it's there.

Didn't there used to be a restaurant there that served pizza and pasta back in the Communicore days?

It seems everywhere you look in the front of EPCOT there is some large abandoned building or room, most of which have already been pointed out here. Same goes for all the dragon stuff in Animal Kingdom, and I'm still aggravated they dropped that timeless theme for some lame cash in on Avatar, which btw, does anyone ever care about Avatar at this point (other then some nifty effects the story and characters are completely forgettable and poorly written)?

Is that where she was moved to? I'm on about the girl that's above the track who used to be part of the space station looking out of a window. I don't recall ever seeing her, but I know many people on here have mentioned her before, and have said she's still there.

It's basically a Sci Fi version of Pocahontas!

That's what I thought of when I saw that picture, however, my mind seems to be directing more toward the Odyssey building then Communicore. Anything is possible though.

Yeah. I remember eating at the Odyssey as a kid. I think the one in Communicore West was called the Sunrise Terrace or somthing to that effect

The main part of that restaurant is now the Character Spot, and the Fountain View was part of its original eating area

For what it's worth, that planter in front of Mission:Space wasn't designed as a throw-back to the Horizons building, it's the original planter that held the attraction's marquee. From the perfectly-rectangular bare spot that I saw in the middle of it during my last trip, it appears that the sign's foundation is still there. The planter remained outside the construction walls when they were building M:S
