Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Back Lot Tour, when it opened, was a strong attraction. It hadn't "grown moribund," WDW management made decisions that chipped away at it and let it decay to an absurd degree, which is their pattern - fail to maintain an attraction and then close it

I think it was the fact the studio was never commercially viable that killed the backlot tour, without a real working backlot it wasn't really much of a tour.

Looks an awful lot like something one might find in cars land :cautious:
Curmudgeon alert but:

To me, it looks like something that belongs in Tomorrowland. Nothing about the ride vehicles or structure that we have seen so far looks remotely like a toy in Andy's yard. It looks like what it is: a version of a ride that Disney already knew how to build forced to fit (or not) into a space that was thematically unsuitable.

And just to nitpick - why is there a Pizza Planet arch on the pathway leading to the QS spot? Pizza Planet is a full size building!

I still can't see why this won't be open for Christmas. It's all just window dressing on very basic building structures at this point. Come on, Disney.

I've been waiting to see the model and I have to say that for the most part, I like what I see. My only "complaint" is that they took the easy way out and just used a rubber tube on posts to create SDD vice coming closer to "track" and a representation of the actual support structures that already exist. But I guess this model is supposed to give "the feel" of the land vice be an architectural model, so to that end it succeeds.
