I agree with everyone I've read in the last few pages. It's a cute land. Slinky Dog is very fun. I still would have liked more 'show scenes' around the track but it's fine. Just one more missed opportunity. "Needed"? No. But it would have been a very nice plussing.
The fact that only one restaurant is in the land, and features two walk up windows, and little seating, was a mistake.
The lack of a gift shop was a mistake (um, Shanghai has Al's ... it works just fine)
I wish they hadn't cut the Woody's Roundup section.
A splash pad or playground would have been a smart idea.
Even Jessie's Critter Carousel would have worked.
It's just lacking those little extra things that would have made it be a fully thought out land. That doesn't make what's there bad. I certainly do enjoy the land.
I like Alien more than some. I think the music is fun. Amazing? No, but it's fun. And I would use a FastPass on it. I'm not waiting over 30 minutes for it. It's not a must do. We needed another flat ride or two, honestly.
What's there is good, I just wish it were great. It feels a bit butchered and budgeted for what could have been. But it works and I don't think about any of that really when I'm there. But in the back of my head, it's just disappointing knowing they could have done a little better and didn't.
And the lack of shade!!! PLEASE fix this. And why on earth did they decide it was a good idea not to have a covered area for the characters to greet at? While some areas are nice and green, the main stretch is just too barren.
I also think they should have had Potato Head in the outdoor queue where the "cardboard" photo op is ...
It's a good land and a nice addition to the Studios. It just missed the mark on being amazing. JMO. Imagine the Woody's Roundup area from Shanghai (make it a splash area like from Grizzly Gulch in HK), with a second proper dining location, a proper Al's Toy Barn (hi, Shanghai), even the Critter Carousel (hi, Anaheim) ... it would make for a full and complete experience with some "extra" attractions. I'm not suggesting RC or Paracute Drop, but would they have really hurt to also have in the land? (I get sightlines, but maybe SW shouldn't go directly next to TSL ...) I like that it's not just three fair-type attractions, but I'm just thinking about how the park could really pad out it's offerings ...
But I enjoy what is there.
