Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Just a word on CM previews. Remember that most CMS are just thrilled to be in to a new land as one of the first to ride. Disney offer it as a perk, so don't expect to see much of a real-world review out of them. :)

Accepting this, the reports I've seen suggest that if you sit at the back of the "Slinky" then the ride is a lot more exciting, more so than they were perhaps expecting. Sitting at the front makes it much tamer - apparently.

So if I can bring myself to do it, I will be requesting politely to sit in the very front, or maybe one back so if I open my eyes I won't see what's coming. But everyone else should aim to sit at the back!

Not even close. Just pointing out that this is a more blatant "IP invasion" than Epcot has ever had, which seems to be a common complaint for that park.
The difference being that TDS has always had space for IP in its mission and theme.

While IP in Epcot goes directly against what the park stands for.

Yes as others have mentioned, this holds true for most coasters, from the Barnstormer to Expedition Everest.

Buzz is pretty much right in front of aliens, which doesn't exactly have a very photogenic exterior quite yet :p

I wonder what is going to go into the circular area in the queue for the Saucers. I am assuming just foliage, but why hasn't it been filled yet, though.

I would agree this is a fairly universal truth, probably best realized on RnR. I will mention I dont feel quite the same in EE, due to the backwards helix. 😊

I think it's just possible that the main point of my previous post should be this,

that it is a lot more exciting than they were perhaps expecting

rather than the front or back discussion! ;)

Thanks! Makes sense, although as you may have gathered, I wouldn't know from experience. Grade 1 wuss here! :joyfull:
To add, 7DMT would probably be another good one for you. The cars rock a bit but it's still slow and short (height and length). Be glad you know your limits, I had a friend get on a decent sized coaster with us once and break down crying and screaming when we were on the lift. They didn't know they didn't like coasters until then.

Yeah, I think its basically a universal truth that the back of a coaster gives you the more "thrilling" experience.

It might be more thrilling, but the back isn't always a better experience. On many coasters, it's more shaky, jerky, and headache-inducing in the back row. RnRC is a good example of this. Despite my love for RnRC, I will never ride in the back row, and always wait for the front if they try to place me back there. Space Mountain is the most painful in the back also (pro tip: middle seat of the rocket is the smoothest ride).

BTM and Everest, however, the back is definitely the best and I will gladly wait for it on both rides. I will probably do the back for Slinky also.

Definitely. More "thrilling" doesn't always translate to "better" experience. Myself, I don't like to ride in the back unless I don't want to have a functioning neck the rest of the day.

If the model is accurate it should be a giant set piece of a Spaceranger Spin gun, which would make sense since it seems there’s a concrete foundation in the circle.

We’re busy until 2023 but then finally aim to get to the far east parks. We’ve priced it up from the UK and it was surprisingly affordable. Ish.
I posted this yesterday ->
We are planning on going for the 40th Annervisary in 2023, so this announcement has me so excited! I already would be in awe of the park, but now there will be even more to do. Now we will probably stay there for a sixth day instead of just 5. You got me TDLR!

WDW, DL, now Tokyo!

I swear I am not following you. Are you following me? :hilarious:

OK! Maybe I'm not a grade 1 wuss then....

I love 7dmt and BTMRR. It isn't the speed that's the issue, nor even the height as such. It's the perception that I can fall out. So when something's built into the mountain, it's fine. If I were to fall, it would be onto "solid" ground (yes, I know it's not really). But Barnstormer and Slinky are on a track off the ground, so I could fall out!!!!

The gondola will be fine, there's sides to it.
