Toy Story Land, right? We are farmers, could talk all day about global warming, but its a whole different site. Still excited about Slinky dog, talk about climate change and cheese will not distract me! Heading to make a grilled cheese sandwich while the discussion continues.
Yes! lol! Honestly though, I don't mind when the discussion gets off topic for a time as that is how conversations usually work in the real world. Plus, I'm usually one of the guilty ones that participates when they do. haha! But yes, I'm super excited about the Slinky dog coaster as well as it looks like something my nephew will completely lose himself on. Those little airtime hills look fantastic!

Apologies if already covered in the previous 386 pages, but is the Slinky Dog coaster pretty much a regular coaster experience, or does the coaster have any "slinky" action? Like how Mine Train sways, does this have any movement that mimics the way a Slinky would expand and contract?

No push/pull of a slinky. The area of track with bunch of small hills is supposed to simulate that and give 4 little air-times in a row.

And then the rest of the track is a lot of tight turns, l

Credit for this picture goes to @bioreconstruct on Twitter. Can anyone confirm what this buildings use will be. Restaurant? Gift shop? Bathrooms? A mixture of those?

Seems like such a missed opportunity (and so out of character for Disney) since the Toy Story gift shop across from TMM has always felt very temporary. I guess they figure, between that and the gift shop for Space Ranger Spin, there's enough Toy Story merch. But it would be nice to consolidate it all in a bigger store.

Agreed! That or (like people have said) a more accurate Pizza Planet. I think the reason people have been so critical of TSL is because the theming of "adult" lands (SWL and Pandora) seems so intricate by comparison, whereas TSL feels like a step back from the goal of immersing guests in a new world. I'm sure TSL will be cute and the rides will be enjoyable, but it is possible to create a detailed, immersive land aimed at children. Actually seeing areas from Toy Story (or any Pixar movie for that matter) come to life would be exciting, but that doesn't seem to be the direction TDO has taken here. Whether you love or hate the idea of this expansion (and I'm somewhere in the middle), you have to admit it's much more lightly themed than the average expansion these days.

Come to think of it, is there even going to be a gift shop in this land at all? I would be surprised if there wasn't, but I don't know where it would be looking at the construction so far.

Apparently, since the gift shop was supposed to be in the Woody's Roundio section, and that got cut, there won't be one. Now they'll just have some merch carts/stands.

Also, if you are the size of a toy, then is the merchandise the size of an ant? Why aren't the toys you buy the same size as you are? This is, I tell you, thematically inconsistent!

Pixar Place is going to be backstage now, so that gift shop won't be open.

Indeed. If the world and the media are expecting the Cars Land of Toy Story I'm already cringing for the reviews.

True. Radiator Springs is a very good counterpoint to TSL–another IP-themed area with child-friendly vibe and attractions, but with top-tier theming and Radiator Springs Racers. But I guess you could count TMM as TSL's headlining attraction, and that (while it isn't on RSR's level) is at least a more involved indoor attraction.
