The RC RACER ride could be angled at the entrance near those 2 bungalows in such a way the spikes would not be seen. The spikes themselves are actually like 10 feet SHORTER than the center tower of the Chinese Theater. The queues could run in front of the bungalows. the TSL facing side of the bungalows could get minor facelifts to match thew TSL theme since the may be seen onstage. Like it or not......it would be a fun ride and add capacity. The teams at WDI culd make this work if allowed. It would also not cost more a great deal either. Alas lazy TDO wont add to TSL for a decade or so at least.
Weren't there TS flat rides that were rejected by Shanghai ?? Ship them in!

Good to see the A.S.S. cheeks continuing to take shape and the coaster footers going in. This looks quite far from opening in just about a year, but I guess it can be landscaped quickly.

No, Shanghai is still getting a Toy Story Land with three flat rides. It was announced.

Anyone know what is going on with these backdrop structures? I was thinking they'd be themed to toy boxes
or something, but now there are stairs "onstage", and the strange "enclosed" area on the left of the pic.
Wondering what these are going to become.

I believe the stairs you see are for the scaffolding that is in front of the backdrop structure and will only be there temporarily. The 'enclosed' area is only enclosed up high. The taller part in the back is open at the bottom, which would lead me to believe the top is need to block the sight lines, while the bottom is not as the shorter wall is already serving that purpose.

The stairs look like they could be work platforms from a different angle. The structure looks like it may take the form of a box (looks like it will have an open flap made up of that wall to the left. The station looks long wheras the concept art looks deep. If there are separate load and unload stations, this could be the load wth the track exiting the station with a sharp right through the opening in the corner.

Nevermind, footings are on the outside so it probably isn't the station, though it could still serve at a themed box.

It seems many of us here are rather fascinated about this wall (as opposed to another wall that's been talked about a little bit). I don't know exactly why I'm fascinated about it. I guess b/c since it's a rather enormous focal point of the land, situated next to a parking garage, it makes for some very interesting and creative problem solving. It's such a mystery. That, or I've just been wall-washed lately.

im guessing that boxed off area is going to be more backstage maybe?its hard for me to tell where the load/unload station is compared to the maintenance bay. Unless that ride will end by going behind that wall and back into the station, Trying to judge by looking at the support footers for the ride itself

Yes, I agree that is to access the scaffolding. This means whatever they are going to do on the wall will be done on site instead of just brought in an installed. You can see it more clearly here:

this is a picture of the concept art from one of the construction walls in the parks, i have a feeling that will be backstage area in the boxed off back corner. The coaster takes a hard turn into that area.

Yeah, lt looks like that will be backstage. The red arrow is probably how the trains will get back there to enter the maintenance bay.

I can start to hear people wanting the Osborne lights to come back on those walls going in.

Expect the bottom of the wall to be exposed "legs" with lanscaping and a berm hiding them.
