Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I just hope the tiers don't turn out like like Epcot - pick one good ride, SSE which would work fine as standby only, and one ride that never has a line anyway

Not sure if the Alien whip ride will end up with FP+ (feel like that could go either way) but would assume the other 3 new rides coming will have it. That would mean 8-9 FP+ rides (once Star Wars is done) at DHS, all of which would likely have some value to getting FP+. So, even with tiers, it would be easy to come p with three useful things each day. Heck, it's easy now (we do a standard TSM, ToT, Star Tours group and that is value; works using RnR instead of TSM if you prefer it) and having more choices won't make it worse.

That's not even considering using FP+ for anything else -- you could argue it has value for Fantasmic! at least.

I have to imagine Aliens will have FP. Other flat rides like Dumbo and Magic Carpets have FP I believe, and having more to chose from for DHS would be a good thing. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if one of the two sides is exclusively set aside for FP even or something like that.
Well, either it's a typo or they really went cheap and it will be done within the next twelve months. Hopefully a typo :)
Wouldn't that be the opposite of going cheap to try and get it done quicker?

I've felt like for a while that it really doesn't look as far off from opening as it's rumored to be (granted, coming from someone who knows absolutely nothing about construction). I could definitely see an opening at the end of the year as a capacity boost for the busy holiday season, as well as boosting capacity for a directly followed closure of GMR once the slow season season soon after begins in January.

Anyway the timeline isn't very clear at all, hopefully it opens as soon as possible, but I imagine we won't get any real concrete answer until D23.

I'm sure it's a typo, but I also imagine if they had really wanted to, an and end of year opening for the holidays wouldn't have been too hard to accomplish. With how long the backlot tour was shut down the land should already be open, lol

I didn't forget, I just didn't realize they were using the back stage road going past an active construction site.
tbh, I don't know if they actually did or not lol. I don't know what the route through DHS was like this year, but it was obviously very much altered from prior years.

In past years it did go back stage behind Rockin rollercoaster and then it shifted to the left so they could run through the back lot tour tunnel but now that that is all gone I guess I should have expected they would reroute to the perimeter road.

I love me some back stage photos but please be careful. I'd hate to see you get terminated with a DNR for taking photos for us.

I agree and these were pretty unexciting anyway, nothin new in these. If you're gonna risk your job do it for something better than these!

I was checking out the route yesterday and there is a TON of backstage paths, but who runs a marathon with their cell phone in hand?!
