Toy Story Land expansion announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I was disappointed in the apparent speed and acceleration of the launch. It seemed like a lift hill.
I guess my expectation of a launch like RnRC has would be unreasonable for a kids coaster, though.

All the same, if we make it back after it opens I would ride it and I expect I would enjoy it.

Why are they even doing this at all? It's not worth it if all these cutbacks have to take place.

I'm pretty mad that Al's Toy Barn and the Woody's Roundup section have gotten removed, not to mention the cutbacks to SDD. Sigh.

Do we know for a fact that these have been removed? I know we don't see them in the concept art on the construction walls but it looks like it cuts off before this area starts. Has Disney or an Insider confirmed?

Be careful - you are leaving yourself open for criticism from the elite.... :)

Not directed at you @Mike S , but it's easy to express opinions about how bad each ride will be - those type of comments will get a lot of positive reinforcements. Unless you're someone like @Siren , "defending" type comments will just be met with derision, so why bother posting. Whether a ride is good or not really takes riding it along with the intended audience. But the theming can also play a big part in enjoying the whole area - we will see how Disney does on this.

I love watching the construction process, so that is the part I'm focused on now.
Dont mention her please, you will summon her and another thread will be destroyed.

I think we see enough in that video to more accurately determine how everything will be placed behind TSMM.

I'm not surprised that they're not attempting to hide things better, but the fact that you can easily see the parking garage and Feature Animation building from Slinky on even such a cheap, lo-res video has me concerned about this whole land.

I will remain hopeful that the video is prelim concept that has a layout of major attractions and buildings without much theming thrown in. That being said... I really wish that they didn't release this video. This pared down extract is boring and doesn't inspire excitement for the land. I know it would cost extra $$... but setup part of PIXAR to design & produce promotional videos for the new attractions and land.

The concept art on the official parks website seems to show that Al's Toy Barn and Woody's area have been cut.

How could they settle for this?

Surely they are panicking over the lack of a gift shop.

Yeah, I'm not sure why this video was released. It's dreadful.

I'm lolling because I don't even know how to respond to how much has been cut from what was already a fairly cheap-looking land. Unless they're cutting everything in an attempt to get the new rides up and running before the holiday season this year, this is ridiculous.

Even if they started having the rides built offsite and are ready to be put in place soon, which is probably unlikely, could it even be done by the end of this year?

Woof! I hope it is at least a 3 or more minutes long, otherwise that's just sad. I'm adopting a wait and see. The bread is in the pudding! Or is it the pudding is in the bread? Who am I kidding, this looks stunningly mediocre.

The entrance to Toy Story Mania, the Woody's Round-up area and Al's Toy Barn, the restrooms, the design of the coaster plus theming, plus the exterior theming to the Alien Men ride (the quick service restaurant was also re-positioned forward, I'm assuming to add more space to the Star Wars entrance)... hardly one element was sparred in this cutback. Is all that money going into pockets, or to Shanghai, or will it eventually make its way to the Studios at some point? Please tell me there's an upcoming stockholders meeting/Q&A soon.
