Toy Story Character Meals...Enough is Enough Already!!

Toy Story Character Meal

Sign me up and save me a table. This would be GREAT to have Woody and Buzz at a meal. How about Potatoe Head, Jesse, Bo Peep too. When I went to Pixar Place a year ago the Toy Story Meet and Greet was mobbed. My son insisted we stay on line....for 20 minutes:lookaroun.... to get his 1st autograph and second meeting withe the characters. This would be a smash hit with visitors to WDW.

Being a girl who does not enjoy the princess stuff and all the "boys things" instead (Star Wars, Toy Story and Pirates), I would go to either of them if they were offered! Bring on Woody, Buzz, Jesse and Bullseye! Army men should be the servers and mess with the tables like at 50's!

Come on Disney, there are some great ideas here....it's not like we are asking for Pooh's Playspot back! Show us that the big corporate machine can be nimble and respond to some simple market demand -- and not everything needs to be either a 10 or 20 year pay back, or be late to the game (think American Idol). An expanded selection of character meals....I still like a limited engagement meal like Toy Story...spin it as the Toys are on vacation from Sunnyside.....and join them for dinner in Disney DHS...whatever. Pirate meal...another great idea. You could couple a dinner and costume package with the Pirate League....come get a pirate make over and then go have dinner with Capt Hook...WOW would my DS6 and DS3 be thrilled.

I am not a big fan of character meals, but I would like to see them change one of the existing ones into Toy Story. I think the Garden Grille at Epcot would be a good choice. Maybe one meal could be TS and one meal could remain C&D.

Unfortunately it wouldn't really be possible for Woody and Buzz to be at dining (they aren't really suited to moving around a restaurant, especially Buzz).

At Cinderella's Royal Table, Cinderella doesn't make the rounds in the dining room. She's in the lobby and people have their picture taken with her before going upstairs. They could do the same thing with Buzz.

I would absolutely LOVE a Pirates meal! It would appeal to both boys and girls (especially if they have a Lucy Swan character walking around).

I think it may be something they consider in the future, I mean, Toy Story was huge ten years ago, and it made a comeback with all the merchandising and the cartoon with Buzz, but what if in another ten years it fades away again?

I think they're probably trying to gauge whether or not there is something marketable and lasting before they attempt to do any meet and greets.

As opposed to JoJo, Goliath and Handy Manny?

No offense, I think both are good, but will anyone remember them in 5 years?

They were at HW&V and it was better than Chef Mickey's in my opinion.

I fully believe the Toy Story characters have reached critical mass and will be remembered for a while!

How about doing at the SciFI restaurant a few nights a week --- play Pixie Short FIlms on the movie screen --- so many options.

At Cinderella's Royal Table, Cinderella doesn't make the rounds in the dining room. She's in the lobby and people have their picture taken with her before going upstairs. They could do the same thing with Buzz.

I agree that Sci-Fi sounds like a good place for Toy Story characters!

I also like the idea of having the characters in the "lobby" especially Buzz because of his wings. The others could be in the restaurant. The only problem is that Sci-Fi has such a small "lobby". Either would have to pick a different restaurant or make some changes to the front of Sci-Fi.

I would certainly be one of the first to see a Toy Story Character Meal. But to be honest I want the Muppet restaurant first, like the one that almost happened at the Studios.

The only problem is the muppets are popular with some of us older folks -- and I personally would love more done with the muppets. The reality -- just walk in any store - Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, etc. -- is kids, especially boys are into either Toy Story or Star Wars. I think Stars Wars would be awesome, but then Disney would need to design some special futuristic space themed restaurant like in the movies, memo, etc. and this would take time and have space and cost issues.

The Disney Channel constantly is refreshing shows -- and I think Disney DHS should do the same and be relatively current. Bear, JoJo are all but gone -- lately, Tigger and Pooh have not been running as much --
