Rumor Tower of Terror to gain new theme?

aerosmith? in a disney park?? dedicated to movie magic???
in what reality does that make any sense when there has always been an abundance of better, more synergistic, in-house ip to be utilized for such purpose?

the flight of fears, which opened three years prior, were the same dang thing wrapped in a concept that actually made sense...
which always led me to view rnrc as a few years too late baby boomers ill-conceived bid for relevance mired in a cheap, eisner'y, superstar limo'y swath of borrowed and strained creativity

however, to each their own, of course

Except the theme isn't movies...The theme is "Hollywood" which has a mess of movie baked into the theme. The idea of a recoding studio being in Hollywood is actually normal, even if its a bit at odds with the rest of the park having "movie" as attractions. The Muppets also don't really fit the "movie" theme, outside them actually being in movies. They are much more TV based, just like Superstar Television, Lets Make a Deal, WCW Wrestling and a mess of other "General Entertainment" shows and attractions.

Cause regardless of the time period, it's Hollywood.

But aesthetically, it doesn't fit the 30s.
Sunset is set in today though. Hence the HTH being closed since 1939.

The G force recording studio recorded bands in the 30s. The bands used to play in the Tip Top Club. The hotel closed, G force fell on hard times before reopening in the 90s as a modern day recording studio.

In a nutshell.

I like RNRC, always have, but it has always seemed out of place next to the Tower Of Terror... My are we at a recording studio next to an abandones hotel on the dead end of Sunset Boulevard... Now maybe if theye tore out the Ranch Market and made it look more like a bustling Sunset Boulevard, a Capitol Records type facade telling a clearer story about a studio tour would make a bit more sense. I love the idea of creating a back corridor that would parallel Sunset and be anew Toontown and retheme it to a Benny's runaway cab type scenario and add a few more Toontown attractions... It would be more engaging than the Andy's Back Yard section of the park..

i picture eisner waking up in a sweat and racing to work that morning... "guys, i had the greatest idea in a dream last night............. "
...then after he walks out... "how do we do that?" "well, my nephew just got back from kings island........" "..............awesome - are you thinking what i'm thinking?" in unison, "blacklight cardboard cut-outs!"

:p

Doesn't seem like there are any elements on Sunset outside of RnRC to indicate that it's set in the 90s?

Would be a much more natural fit if RnRC was redesigned to fit with the 30s
There’s the abandoned hotel. The decrepit HTH billboard. And Planet Hollywood....

I guess Glenn Miller didn’t quite fit for the coaster theme.

Well the Hotel and the billboard are from the 1910's, when it was built.
Things looked decrepit in the 30s too, it's not specific to the 90s.

And Planet Hollywood is just another contemporary brand in a land set in the past
Plenty of those in Disneyland from day 1
