What the heck is Disney thinking. Every good golf cart has at least 12 places to put a beer. Why did they need to drive around holding them? It's no wonder they almost hit some people... Jeez.

Nah, they were old enough to know the consequences, the judge will see that it isn't as serious as the charges are though, and they will learn a lesson.
It depends upon a number of factors. If either one of these guys has any sort of criminal history and/or are in violation of probation (VOP), they could end up having to kiss the baby. It will be interesting to follow this story.

Disney needs to be careful... while offering alcohol is good for $, bad PR like this won't help the child/family vacation spot atmosphere

With the exception of MK and AK - Disney could care less about maintaining the family vacation spot atmosphere. Have you been to HS after 8pm or EPCOT (hell anytime of day)?

1) They were at the Boardwalk area, not EPCOT.
2) Disney isn't "pushing" booze, they provide adult beverages for adults, there was no mention of them drinking around the world, they were at Boardwalk (if you want an IQ test for sales great, let's just make sure we have a testing center at the main gates for entrance as well.)
3) Grand theft is the easiest thing to charge them with. They could have killed someone the way they where driving and yes as others have said, they where old enough to know better.

There seems to be a lot of folks here intimating that alcohol is required for people to behave badly at WDW. I recall quite a few incidents over the last few years where no alcohol was involved. There was a bunch of teens in Tomorrowland that had a street brawl, women fighting in line at tea cups, and a guy that threw his baby at a bus driver. To the best of my knowledge, none of this stupidity was alcohol related. I think that people either have the disposition to behave properly or they don't. Alcohol will lower inhibitions, but these guys may have done something this stupid anyway....

I wonder if they had the option of adding their mug shots to their Photopass?

Yup and Disney Cruise had a child molester that they let get away. Most people do not even know about that.
People keep phrasing it as if he slipped past them.

They didn't let him get away, THEY HELPED HIM GET AWAY!!! They didn't call the cops and then PAID for his safe passage to India.

And don't anyone tell me there wasn't time to call the cops. If Bob Iger had been there and someone was punching HIM, the cops would have been called fast enough. I also don't want to hear that they were contractually obligated to pay for their child molester's safe passage home. I'd like to see that contract, lol.

They should have had him arrested, but instead they helped him get away.

Someone ought to go to jail for that.

Something that seems to be being missed is the fact that it didn't happen in Epcot, it happened at the Boardwalk. The gentlemen had beers in hand and that would only be possible if they bought them on the Boardwalk as guests are not allowed to leave the parks while toting alcohol. So if you must blame Disney, blame the resort not the park.

I feel badly for these guys. Can't imagine having to call my boss and say I'm not coming back on time because I got arrested for Grand Theft.

Actually, the Boardwalk doesn't sell cans AFAIK...
