If you had the choice of 3 weeks at OKW studio

Or

2 Weeks at AKL with Savannah View

Or

2 Weeks at WL Standard View

All for roughly the same price which would you go for???

Hmmm, what if you did one week at each? That would lower the cost to roughly the same, no? Or do you need to stay at one resort to get the good deal? If that is the case than I would say OKW....3 weeks is better than 2. You can then do everything at your leisure and not rush rush like we always do. But even though you have free dining, that is still more of a possibly of purchasing more goodies to take home.:)

We will have Free Dining :sohappy::sohappy:

Ah, well in that case, it certainly depends on how long a person prefers to stay. I stand by my original comment that 3 weeks is just too long for us, so I would opt for the 2 week trip.

But if we were willing and happy to go for 3 weeks, then I would consider the hotel to be more secondary to the opportunity to stay longer. So even though OKW would not be one of my first choices for the resort, ultimately, it's just a place to sleep while enjoying a trip to WDW. So for those who are all about going as long as possible, I would suggest staying at the hotel that allows you the longest stay (as long as the price is all roughly equal as you said).

But for me and my family, 2 weeks would be plenty. Probably too long, in fact. Next year, we plan on 2 nights at the Nickelodean Suites and 10 nights at CBR and that's enough for us.

That wouldnt worry me!

And no has to be at 1 resort as we will either purchase a 2 or 3 week pass with free dining :D

I think I would got for 2 weeks at the WL!!!!! Or maybe do a week at AKL and a week at WL...That might be good!! 3 weeks seem to long to me...I know the distance you travel but its still a long time for paying tips and other spending cash. Good Luck!!!

I would take a 3 week vacation to Antarctica if I could take 3 weeks off work. Of the 3 choices, I would choose 3 weeks at OKW. If it were my personal choice, I would do the following (based on monetary reasons):

1 week at Pop Century
1 Week at Coronado Springs
1 Week at an All Star resort

I would take the 2 weeks at the WL, just love it there!

We met a family one year who spent the entire month of July at the WL and had since it opened. They wanted to escape from Texas for a while...very interesting people :lookaroun

I prefer both the AKL and WL over OKW, but to go for an extra week meals included for the same amount? No contest. IF I could afford to be off work that long, I'd do OKW. I'd also probably consider renting a car for at least part of the trip (there are places to rent cars on property, and they'll pick you up at your resort and bring you to the rental centers to pick up your car). This way, I can more easily visit the other resorts.

I'd also add, if you can get the same 3-week deal staying at Saratoga Springs (and you indicated that it would be), I'd probably choose that over OKW. Keeping with lovedonald's comments, Saratoga Springs is MUCH closer to Downtown Disney then Old Key West is, in fact the Congress Park section is less than a 10-minute walk to the bus stop at the Marketplace (while also being pretty close to the main building), giving you much easier options to get to all the other resorts, even without a rental car. The disadvantage is that the studios in OKW are bigger than the rooms at SSR, so if you'll need more space (I've no idea how many people are in your party, any more than 2 adults you may prefer the extra space at OKW).

Aaaaand to throw one more option out there to make your awesome choice that much harder, if it's that much cheaper to stay in OKW or SSR, have you thought about 2 weeks in one of those resorts, but in a larger room? Is that even an option for you with this promotion? I know the full kitchen won't be used by you with your free dining option (except the fridge may come in handy for leftovers or uneaten snacks), but the separate bedroom might be nice for such a large stay, especially if you are a party of more than 2 people. Plus, you'll get in-room laundry, and a whirlpool tub.

We def wont stay at SS, OKW is a much nicer resort in my opinion and the rooms in SS are not very appealing!!

The 1 bed villa is an option though, just checked it out and it works out alot cheaper than AKL or WL for 2 weeks, may be an idea

Does it have to be a vacation in one-week increments? Could you make it, say, a 16-day or 17-day vacation in a 1BR?

We can but we always go for 2 or 3 weeks as we get the ultimate wdw tickets exclusive in the uk and ireland and they come in 14 and 21 day options

For me, it doesn't matter what choices were given...all financial considerations being equal, I'd choose the longest duration. I don't spend time IN THE ROOM, so I don't care too much about the actual accomodations. Resort choice matters more than the room itself. But, the bigger issue for most people is how to take off 3 weeks from work! I bet if people were that independantly weathly that work wasn't a factor, this question probably wouldn't be a factor either :).

The problem this year is we are doing a Fantasy Cruise for a week afterward so getting the 4th week off may be a prob

I would do 3 weeks at OKW. It will be nice to be close to DTD and if you have free dining there really isn't anything to hold you back! We did two weeks for our honeymoon and could have easily stayed for another week.

resort alone

if you are going by resort alone and distance to everything else is no concern. i think i would go for akl over wl. If you enjoy watching the animals they are out on the savanna for most of the time. If i remember right but i could be wrong they only leave savanna for an hour or two to get checked out. the new kidani village although a good walk away from the jumbo house and most of the food has the better main look out area instead of being above the animals you are eye level with them. The restaurant there also allows you to see the animals while you eat. Both area of akl have nice pools. Jumbo House has the restaurant Boma's which i love the bufffet there and jiko's usually gets pretty good reviews. I have never stayed at wl I like eating at whispering canyon and i am pretty sure artist pointe is a really good restaurant. Both resorts have fire places i there lobbys although the wl's fireplace is something to see the other sights at wl are the geyser that s near the lake, the waterfall that runs from the lobby to the pool and i am pretty sure it has a beach
