Don't feel bad, Debbie; I'm 21 and don't know what the hell Rob's talking about, either!

Actually, I believe Spitvalve is a local band in Orlando, so the rest of them may be local, "underground," or "indie" bands, as well.

Rob doesn't strike me as an MTV man!!

Well I am 38 and would like to think I am pretty hip to the music out there. I love Nickelback, Incubus, Godsmack, Puddle of Mud, and that band that sings "Can you take it all away, shoved it in my face" etc. Then I have to listen to the rap/ hiphop that my 14 year old stepson listens to. I do like Juvenile's old song- Back that *ss up but I can't let him play it around my parrot of an eight year old.

My top five would be, and this is in no particular order:

BB King ( Not actually a band, but he does travel with one)
The Cure
The Violent Femmes
Garbage
Oasis

As for Tiggerman's choices, I've heard of Spacehog. But that's about it.

i can't beleive that no one has heard of Sublime. come on! their radio hits were 'what i got', 'santaria (sp?), Summertime, and a few others. They were rather popular just after their lead singer (brad noel, i think) passed away.

Well, when people ask me what music I listen to, I say, "Disney." That said, I recognized only about 90 percent of those names you guys mentioned.

My favorites include:

Four for a Dollar (BatB preshow guys)
American Vybe
Voices of Liberty
JAMMitors
and. . .anyone who does a song in a disney movie :D

I don't need a lot of fluff. I like pure harmonious stuff, like Barbershop quartets. I also like oldies music, and I listen to that a lot too, I guess.

i've heard OF them, and i saw them live on a late night talk show once. i wasn't really impressed with what i saw of them, but i'm willing to give them a fair chance, if i ever get to hear some of their studio-recorded stuff.

My taste is kind of eclectic, but I'll always tip my hat to (in no particular order)...

1.) Dave Matthews Band
2.) Red Hot Chili Peppers
3.) The Eagles
4.) The Rolling Stones
5.) Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

P.S.: My taste is so eclectic that I edited my selections after taking more time to think on them; I originally had CCR in my 5 slot, but TP&TH really deserve a spot on my list. This group is pretty much my final answer.

I saw Petty last night...AWESOME SHOW!!!

Started out with my favorite!!! And a great choice for the RnRollercoaster...

Running Down a Dream :)

And he had an exclusive cover for us...

"Well, I love that dirty water....Yeah, Boston you're my home!"

He ended the night with American Girl...but the show as a whole was AWESOME...Even Brian Setzer "Rocked Our Town, Rocked it Inside Out"

I want to go see Tom Petty SOOOOOOOOOO bad! He's going to be in Tampa next month, I think. Alas, the funds are not available. :( There's also the Diamond Dave/Sammy Hagar tour. I would sell my vital organs to go to that show....as long as they waited till after the show to collect!
