You can thank Fast Pass+ for that. It's such a failure it's untrue.

I have been saying this to some of my friends and they thought I was nuts...but I think it's true :) In ways it's great...in ways it's not at all...just got back from a 6 days trip using FP+ and it about drove me nuts...(but I got to ride the big rides with no wait!)

It's still nothing compared to summer crowds. (and the next two weeks) It was real nice the entire week, the cold kept a lot of people away I think. The usual spots were busy 60+ minutes, except for splash which at most was 25 minutes, usually it was just a walk on because of the temps. But after the second parade everything emptied out nicely and by 1AM for the EMH everything was totally cleared out. Shame it was so cold, otherwise I would have made it to 3AM.

Its seemed worse then summer crowds.

If Disney took a survey as to how people paid for their trips, I would imagine a good many would state that they pay with their tax refunds. If we could convince our leaders to go to a Fair Tax, then these tax refunds would cease and crowds would decrease significantly because those who receive significant tax refunds don't have the discipline to save up this kind of money.

Epcot Monorail line is down. Crowds at TTC to get to MK are looking crazy

That's the line for MK monorail. We just hopped on the resort line. There was only about 20 people in that line. Lol

It was amazing the amount of little kids that were still awake and in the park at 1 AM. Some of them were ok...but there were others that should have been put to bed long before. I made it until 2 AM and after about midnight it was ok, but there were still some lines to be had. 7DMT was still 30 minutes when I left.

LOL complaining that WDW is too crowded? NEVER!

I remember a while back we went right after Thanksgiving. The parks were empty, it was really enjoyable.

However I suggest that anyone who plans a trip, should check the online, color coded charts of crowd control.
I know they are not 100% accurate but they can give you a good idea.

I have to confess I am a little surprised. I have absolutely no own experiences with this time of the year at WDW, have never been there at this time so far. So I relied on the Birnbaum and the Unofficial Guide when I was planning a trip to WDW in early December (we changed our plans later) and both guides wrote that the two weeks between Thanksging and the last week before Christmas are the least crowded of the entire year (and we already saw some very low weeks at WDW when even main rides were walk-ons) Now, with the complaning about the crowds (not only in this thread) I am beginning to ask myself about the reliabilty of both guidebooks. And am also quite glad that we went to DLP (were 10 min was already a very LONG wait even at BTM and SM)) instead but that's only MHO. Are the guidebooks really outdated or is it different this year for some mysterious reasons?

The monorail has had serious issues in the past… Well I can't count that many days back… But you get the idea. Every day somebody messages me saying "monorails broken again".... The streams came in the service starting in 1989. It's almost 2015. These trains of been used for 25 years… Give or take. And this much is they've done to maintain and extend the life of each train through maintenance and overhauls, you can only do so much.

The system is horribly overloaded. And it's going to remain that way in the foreseeable future.

touring plans have revised their crowd estimates (http://blog.touringplans.com/2014/12/05/magic-kingdom-crowd-level-changes-december-2014/) and they also write the Unofficial guide so I think they guidebook is now out of date.

One reason that things are different this year apparently is there is a large number of weeks with Christmas parties on Thursday, Friday & Sunday, this means a lot of locals and guests on short trips are doing magic kingdom on Saturday as it the only chance to see fireworks at MK without paying for party.

There is no down time for Disney anymore. Though five years ago, I went the 2nd week of November and it was perfect. May is good too even though it is Star Wars Weekend.

But Disney transportation needs to be updated...monorail...buses

--Wait 10 or more minutes in World Showcase after a fireworks show and you don't have to deal with rude people.
--MK is hopeless with rude people.

Final observation: The abuse of disability status seems out of control. I am probably going to get flamed for this, but I think being 450 pounds overweight is not a disability. It means you should be walking, not riding a scooter. One thing that I think contributes to the parks and transportation feeling overcrowded is that there are seemingly 100,000 scooters running around running into you, and those people then have to be accommodated on transportation. If you are waiting for the monorail forever, which happened to us too, it's usually because every car has three scooters in it taking up all the room. More than 75% of the people riding them don't look disabled at all.

One night, we waited for a bus to return from Animal Kingdom. It took absolutely forever for the bus to come, and the line swelled to something that looked like five buses would be needed to relieve the line. When the first bus arrived, the driver had to take ten minutes to let the seven scooters on the bus, which then took nearly all the room. We were the lucky four who also got on that bus. At the hotel drop off, two of the scooter riders picked up their scooters and carried them off the bus! By themselves! I think there are a lot of people taking advantage of the system.

I'll bite even though I probably shouldn't...

There are people that legitimately need ECVs or wheelchairs and looks can be deceiving, even while there are many that are simply lazy or too out of shape to navigate the parks without them. My wife looks fairly capable but cannot walk more than 1/4 mile or so in a decent amount of time, walking the grocery store and few other shopping locations (about an hour or two) is about all she can do without a wheelchair due to MS but you would never know it looking at her. Judgmental people are as much a problem as people who abuse Disney's accommodations.

The monorails only have a few cars that they typically load wheelchairs or ECVs into, we have had to wait for a second or third on many occasions because they were already full while normal guests loaded freely with little to no wait.

And... Disney buses only hold three ECVs or wheelchairs at a time and must be safely strapped into place before other guests can get on. I know this is a pain for normal guests, waiting the extra five to ten minutes is an inconvenience but it is generally pretty small compared to many of the issues wheelchair bound guests go through (at no fault to Disney.) The extra time to load and unload a wheelchair/ECV is a real pain for us just as it is for other guests.

MK is bad but the other parks are manageable today. Got through AK with all walk ons this morning and right now just got off SSE. Test Track is at 30min which is not bad at all, Soarin' is at 70min.

MK was packed last night. No shocker there and we totally expected it. What drives me nuts is the idiots who just walk around oblivious to the thousands of people around them. You can't walk down MS USA while staring up at the castle. I got ran into so many times with not so much as an "excuse me" and then most people just look at you like it's your fault. At one point a guy turned around to talk to his friends and was walking backwards, as he was about to collide into me I put my arm out and grabbed him and I seriously wanted to push him down. If my wife hadn't been there I may have. He didn't even say sorry, his friend told him to watch out but he just kept walking.

and to people with double wide strollers, why do you think it's OK to stop right in the middle of the crowded pathway to rummage around for little Johnnys juice box or whatever it is your looking for? I don't mind all the strollers, just don't act like everybody should yield to you when your kid throws the blanket on the ground and you decide to give them a scolding while others just want to get by. I will say that I saw many parents who.very quick to move over or grab their kid when they were getting in people's way and to those responsible parents I seriously say THANK YOU!

The parks being crowded aren't the worst thing, it's the morons that don't respect the fact that other people are actually there and they're trying to enjoy themselves as well. A little respect for others would make a huge difference.

We have noticed over the years, as the crowd levels go up it seems the average IQ goes down for some reason... Just kidding sort of, people seem to get real stupid as the parks get busier resulting in a lot of collisions and just general chaos.

Last Christmas (on Christmas night) my wife was stationary just inside the Emporium, parked in her wheelchair as off to the side as possible when a woman literally ran into her falling across the chair. She then proceeded to scream & berate my daughter and wife for getting in her way, then punched my daughter before security started chasing her down Main St USA.

Parents have actually pulled their children across my wife's let supports after they jumped over them to get across the street or wherever they were heading.

Now, I have seen people using wheelchairs, ECVs and strollers as battering rams to push people out of their way too. Just rude, inconsiderate PITA guests IMO.

We just left MK, it was getting pretty crowded. I think we got out just before the swell hit. Thanks for the heads up about EPCOT. We're on the Monorail now.

Do you have a link to that? I like a good rant. That being said she should probably rant to her friends or family as she could get in trouble for that.

You think CMs should be fired for ranting online? Interesting.

Looks like you made a good choice. The pics of MK make it look like a zoo and reports of power failure.
