And yes, that is one of my pet peeves as well. I usually just stop dead in my tracks if they continue to play their game of Red Rover, until someone figures out that they aren't the only humans entitled to use that particular sidewalk.

I always feel bad for all the people who can only visit during the holidays, or it's their first time and they either didn't know any better or don't know what a difference the crowds can have on your experience. Like, obviously you'd be a fool to not expect it to be crowded, but maybe they assume that it's always jam packed?

I feel like if its anyone's first visit and during these times, they probably leave with a terrible impression of the parks and will never really experience the full joy the parks have to offer.

My cousin was there last Christmas with her husband and 3 year old son. They both work in the school system so they had to go over a scheduled break. They chose Christmas thinking it wouldn't be that crowded. In their mind, everyone would be at home celebrating with their families. They stayed off site so they got to the park at normal park opening every day (obviously they couldn't participate in any EMH) They stayed til noon or 1, then left and spent the rest of the day at their hotel swimming. They were shocked by the crowds but found them manageable first thing in the morning. I never really talked to her about the massive holiday crowds because I assumed she knew. When I told her after the fact I was surprised they chose those dates she said they had no idea it would be so busy. They still had a great time though and it did not ruin their vacation. I totally agree though, for some first timers, I'm sure its super discouraging.

I think in this day and age, there's really no excuse any more for not knowing the holidays are going to be OMG crazy busy. A quick 15-second Google search will definitely let that cat out of the bag. Considering how much money it costs to visit Disney for even a day, I can't imagine doing a little bit of information digging before leaving the house. Granted, nowadays there really isn't much of an offseason, but come on, Disney being busy at the holidays is really nothing new. Reading Twitter yesterday, I had to chuckle at how many people were annoyed by how busy the parks truly were. In the words of Bill Engvall, "Here's your sign!"

I'll never understand just "showing up" and not doing research. You don't just hop on a plane and fly to say, New York and just wander around and say "what's there to do?" and then come home, say you didn't get to do anything, and wonder what there is to do there. I'm sure many do do that though, but it's called planning. It doesn't mean insane over the top planning, but be aware and knowledgeable about where you are going on vacation.

We dont even try a new place to eat without checking google, yelp, then urban spoon, then wife ALWAYS checks their Health Inspection Score on the county website. The Health Inspection score is usually the one we pay most attention too, but the point is, we do research on it, even if its a big chain place. It takes all of 5 minutes.

"Hell Week" has been like this for decades. It only gets worse every year. At this point, it should be common knowledge.

Of course, it doesn't help those that "have no other choice" but to going during this week... But I'd go somewhere else entirely before choosing this route. I hear the Caribbean's nice. ;)

Just found out my wife's coworker who is getting married tomorrow is honeymooning for the week at WDW immediately after the wedding....

It's their first time going to WDW.

We finished a week stay at WDW from 12/20-12/27. Definitely take advantage of EMH and utilize FP+. DHS opened at 8am one day. We got there at 8:15am and TSMM was already at 40min (We had a FP later in the day, but figured we might be able to get an early ride).

Went to AK on Christmas day. Park was fine until around 11am when I heard MK closed to day guests.

Oh and I loved how half the people waiting in line for BOG lunch were only there to ask questions about where the parade was or something completely irrelevant.

A person I work with just went down and is spending 3 days @ WDW. The 29th, 30th and 31st and flying back on the 31st. I warned her, but got a response of "no, you don't know what your talking about. It can't be that bad". What else can you say but "Good Luck".
