There are two problems with most of these locations that is mentioned. First, they are not in the path of the parade and Second, those who got the deal would probably go back more than once to eat and drink and that would cut into Disney's profits.

Thanks ESPN+ ( See this mornings CNBC for details)
I foresee a cross-marketing campaign where everyone who buys a 5+ day ticket package will get a year's subscription to ESPN+ for free. Likewise, anyone buying a 2-year subscription to ESPN+ will get a 3-day ticket to either WDW or DLR.

I read that CNBC article. Nah, that's only a potential $200-$500 million loss, that wouldn't have an impact P&R... right? :cautious:

The last few lines were outright hilarious:

Tag Garson, a senior VP at Wasserman, which negotiates broadcast and streaming league rights with media companies, agrees that profit is secondary at this point.

"The company continues to invest in technologies in order to deliver content to consumers in ways in which they will want to view it, and where they are consuming it today, and down the road," Garson said.

"(Disney CEO) Bob Iger and his senior leadership team always have been proactive and smart in their approach to changing consumer habits across all facets of the company, and this is no different. The decisions being made aren't for the short term, rather looking out to the future," Garson said.
(Emphasis added is mine)

Who here thinks this guy needs to do a bit more research into Disney and how it's operated under Iger? ;) Not that they aren't thinking a bit further ahead on this particular venture, but overall... quarterlies tend to rule the board room in Anaheim.

They should do something like this at Epcot for New Years Eve. Have a sort of "hub restaurant" you can go back in and out for drinks, hors d’oeuvres and desserts. It would save a lot of the wandering around aspect of it in WS and control the crowds better if all the restaurants did this. They don't need this here and not for 100 bucks.

To make this comparable to Tony's, it would be at Coral Reef, about as far as you can be from everything. Sure, you could come and go, but you would be wasting a lot of travel time getting to it.

I'm sorry (not sorry) but I had to...

I had to look at what sort of folk are booking this, that is. :p
There is only one place for finding that mentality: the Dis(arranged) forums. There, I see whining about not being able to empty their wallets fast enough into Disney's waiting hands. It seems that to book both the Terrace party and Tony's you have to call. The website keeps trying to tell these people that they are nuts, but folk aren't listening.

Here's one random quote:
Ok so I was creeping on Disney’s website and noticed they now have a page up for Tony’s most merriest party. So naturally, I searched for my date... 12/11. It says there are no times available left to book that date (sold out already?!) but when I searched for almost all other dates it is available. Is it possible that this is a glitch since it’s not available to book until tomorrow for the general public? Or is it that I am just out of luck as it has been all booked up early on my date?

EDIT: never mind you guys, I just refreshed the page about 5 times and the time popped up available to book. I was successful, gave a confirmation number and everything. So moral of this story, available to book now for non pass holders and non DVC.

In other words:

So, I went through the steps to reserve then cancelled. Total with tax: $105.44

By comparison, the cost for the party itself starts at $99 also ($105.44 w/ tax). I was tempted to sign up for it, then it occurred to me that I would be paying for essentially a dessert party at the same cost of MVMCP inside MVMCP. I couldn't do it.

"Note: valid theme park admission and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets are required and are not included in package cost. "

I'm pretty sure this isn't the case, since all you should need is the MVMCP ticket to be in the park during the package.

This under "Know Before You Go" contradicts the statement above under "How to Book":

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the parks,
The family was out lounging,
Around the food carts.

The kids were there too,
Eating more sugary sweets
Along with hand-tossed pizzas,
And artisanal meats.

With cannolis and cookies,
As well as meatballs on the side.
No need to go to the grocery store,
...where you could most-likely get these for less than 3 dollars and ninety-five.

But then they heard a shouting,
"Oh wait, this is your chair?"
"I paid for it!", "But I am sitting in it!"
We all have our crosses to bear.

So out of the table,
The family left with haste.
But sadly, they left some tartlets,
And Timmy misses his red velvet cupcakes.

Or Chocolate, or Vanilla, or cupcakes a dozen
Or Peanut Butter, or Mint straight out of the oven
To the dessert party! To Tony's money pit fall
Now spend away, spend away, spend away all!

... (Too many verses, skip to end)

Mickey sprang to his float, to the cast members he said "Oh boy!"
And away the parade went with cast members cackling with joy.
But I heard them exclaim, ere they marched out of sight.
"The Christmas Party is over. We hope your wallets are light!"
