Do they still have regular counter service there? Traditional counter service stuff? burgers, chicken, etc?
Nope all gone. Before it changed to a buffet it had an Asian fusion menu and before that I believe it was a quasi Italian menu. Now it is just simply closed or to put it in Disney terminology "opened seasonally"

That's too bad. We used to watch fireworks from there grabbing a late dinner. It was always a convenient place to grab a quick bite to eat...rarely crowded and shady. I'm not sure why they'd avoid having it set up for counter service.

I really liked the pizza that they used to have there (it was some of the best pizza that they had on the property). I think that they should bring that back! Anybody else?

I totally agree. I went there in July/Aug 2006 and I haven't been there since 2004 and I wondered why it went away. I really miss the pizza. :(

Can someone give me a picture of this building or mark it on a map so I know which one we are talking about?

Walk north to the hub, turn right towards Tomorrowcartoonland, and it`s on your right.

To get to the Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe you would if just entering the park take a right at et the end of Main Street and go right at the Ice Cream Parlor (do not go as far as the hub). Then go past the Plaza Restaurant. You will pass rest rooms on the right and you will go under a overhead canopy and you will be then entering the Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe. The counter service will be on you right and seating on both sides of the walkway.

Some people dream of monorail service everywhere or a Harry Potter ride.
Others dream of bringing back AE or 20K Leagues.

What di I want to see?

A Tomorrowland Terrace full-service restaurant built...above the ground where the cafe area currently is, in an enclosed climate-controlled room. Elevator service to the restaurant area. Great view for fireworks. The walkway/shortcut to Tomorrowland would still be intact. In fact, the 2nd floor now would provide shade for people on the ground floor, and the kitchen could still provide takeout snacks for the tables still on ground level. The climate-controlled room would satisfy people paying for full-service meals. It's out of the way of pedestrians, and pedestrians are out of the way of the paying customers. And, with Imagineering doing its thing, it could look really Tomorrowland-ish.

I'm sure there's eleventy-seven reasons why something like this could never be built, but that's something I'd really like to see.

I like that idea...very good!!!:sohappy:

That would tie nicely into the idea Imagineers came up with for a restaurant in LAX (I don't know if it got built, but it was in the Imagineering book). It looked like it was elevated, and the wait staff (CM's) were in futuristic (but nice) uniforms, and the place had huge Lava lamps all over the place. It was very cool! They could have a Buzz themed breakfast and/or lunch and then a more upscale dinner menu with the best views of Wishes or current fireworks. I think that would give the location some longevity...well as long as there's really no curse!:lookaroun

It is a shame that they cannot keep anything there. It has perfect seating.

I agree---excellent seating; excellent viewing of Cinderella's Castle. We ate there last week. Very good buffet, though just as expensive ($29.95? per adult---but what did we care, we were on the Dining Plan!!) as any other buffet in WDW. We won't really miss it, though some kind of regular (OPEN year round) eatery would be appreciated!!

I like your idea. It is a great area to view wishes and would be even better with a 2nd floor.
