I think the nearby smoking area is probably releasing more harmful and noxious pollutants than the cars. BUT I'm sure the headaches for the CM's are rampant. Aspirin/Tylenol/Motrin are probably in everyone's pockets for daily use.

The smoking area has been moved.

It's scheduled to shut down at the same time as the Speedway at the beginning of January.

The Disney calendar doesn't list it as a closing... They do list the Speedway in January.

The Speedway is listed as "Closed for refurbishment" starting on January 2, 2019, and the railroad apparently reopening on that day. Their new calendar is confusing...

Checking the WDW calendar day by day, the first day the Railroad is listed as closing is Tuesday 18th December:

And then on Wednesday 2nd January it is no longer listed. Presumably it is re-opening then, although it’s possible they haven’t got around to updating the calendar:

Agreed, I anticipated this being closed for most of 2019.

This seems a lot shorter then anticipated. Perhaps they meant January 5th 2020??? This seems far to short. They have been closed for simular periods with out setting up a display, why would suddenly do so now?

Blog Mickey isn't reporting a reopening date. A quick check on the Disney website lists no times in January for the train.
