Tomorrowland-New D & E Ticket and Aesthetic overhaul

Not sure why the link would be removed . Even though I am in the minority I think that a Tron attraction of sorts would have far more applicability than Avatar in keeping with the theme of Tomorrowland.

Is that really a minority viewpoint? I strongly support TronCoaster in Tomorrowland.

Well it just feels like all you have to do is whisper Avatar on the boards and even if they painted a piece of poo blue and called it Avatar it would get support here. Don't get me wrong I think Avatar was a cool movie and it might have some good applicability at WDW but sometimes I think we get so hungry for new E-tickets that we would accept anything they threw at us....and they might be right.

Personally for my $0.02 I would love to see Kali River Rapids expanded and redone with an Avatar theme maybe with some hi tech indoor areas of the ride as well if they end up falling through with Avatarland and still want to use the theme somewhere.

The latter, yes.

Thank goodness. :)

I don't think they would move CoP to LS with an american history theme as someone suggested as this is a bit too much like the American Adventure at Epcot. But CoP could work at DCA as an homage to Walt Disney. Or even better at a park overseas where the population may not be so aware of the person who started the Disney legacy. Could be a great way to inform while entertaining guests new to Disney.

As for the T-Land overhaul rumors I tend to believe them as they come from a usually reliable source. By moving CoP and Laugh Floor everything else could fall neatly into place. Even moreso if they remove the speedway.

I guess we need a new acronym. Seems possible the Tommorowland Expansion will soon be refered to as the TLE if the rumors are true.

How about no Avatar and they put some new ANIMAL attractions in Animal Kingdom along with some new rides.

And they redo Tomorrowland with a removal of the Speedway, Move MILF over to Pixar Place in Studios and then add some new attractions and aesthetics to Tomorrowland.

See, its very easy.

Avatar. Though I think he says that only cause people are claiming Avatar is on life support, though I think it isnt. I think were more likely to see that rumored Tron Coaster, or something totally different.

Personally, im all for replacing the speedway, SGE and Laugh Floor. Just move Laugh Floor to DHS and your fine. I just hope they hang on to Buzz. Keep SM, Astro, TTA, and Buzz and build on that. If that's what your gonna do.

Speedway isn't going anywhere.... Probably never will... it's EXTREMELY popular..

SGE is too small of a space to do anything much with it... but Alien Encounter was better...

Laugh Floor has more space than people realize and could EASILY house a larger attraction.. As far as a Tron "Coaster" I've been told that the plan is less coaster and more Dinosaur/Spiderman dark ride style, with 3d.. Which sounds awesome.. I mean.. What better theme is better suited to a dark ride then tron? Wouldn't be any light cycle riding in it.. It would like be Quorra's car in Tron: Legacy (more riders :))

I would actually go for this.

If this is true, it seems like a no-brainer. (Which is kind of why I doubt it's true, when was the last time, Disney Did anything predictable?)

If it is true, I think we just found our Prince Caspian Replacement (MILF) And dear God get rid of that awful speedway (Or at least re-imagine it). Avatar and WALL-E rides for tomorrowland, MILF and the TRON Coaster for the studios please, Are you listening Disney?!

P.S. And not to be TOO greedy but while you're expanding, Fix Imagination, add some new Animal Exhibits to DAK, and you'll pretty much be set for another ten years.

Thanks for those who sent the link to DisneyGossip.com. I saw that story last week. The edit "reason" indicates that it was a link to another WDW discussion forum. DisneyGossip.com is a blog. Was that to what the original post linked?

Thanks for the info! Odd that the link was removed; links are posted to other websites here all the time.

Here's what the story said:

DisneyGossip.com said:
One of the key observations that has been made about the new Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom interactive game is that every land except Tomorrowland has a tie-in to the game. This has led many to speculate that Disney does not want to spend to add SotMK elements only to have to remove them for a giant upgrade to the land that may be in the planning stages right now.

The new Disney parks leadership (aka Tom Staggs) and Walt Disney Imagineering agree that Tomorrowland at both the Magic Kingdom and at Disneyland is in great need of help. Cars land opens in June at DCA and New Fantasyland opens in November at the MK. This is fortuitous for the prospects for a new Tomorrowland. If the crowds and spending come to DCA and New Fantasyland as predicted, WDI will get the greenlight to move ahead with plans to update Tomorrowland in both parks.

Historically, Disney management has been much more likely to green light an attraction if it can be duplicated and used in multiple parks. They now believe they can get two Tomorrowlands for the price of one (so to speak). Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom would get clones of a new E-Ticket, clones of a C or D ticket, and updates to theming that will be nearly identical at both parks.

Everything would be tied up around space travel and a very futuristic vision of far off places and new creatures. The C or D ticket is tentatively scheduled to be a WALL-E based next-generation omnimover (a more varied range of motion for the cars and onboard screens to interact with). The E-Ticket you've probably already heard of.

It will be more than just a single ride, but rather a whole pavilion. Everyone knows that Avatarland has been put on hold at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The reason might be because Imagineering has long held an interest in graphing an alien world onto Tomorrowland and the Avatar movies might provide the perfect vehicle. It also lets Disney have a working concept that won't see the park needing to re-invent the land every 15 years again.

That's all I have for today. Looks like we could be in for a very interested next 5 years.

I hope this happens, but I'm a bit skeptical about the source. The tone of the post starts out as one of "connecting the dots" nature, and shifts to an authoritative "this is what's tentatively planned" nature. Is it wishful thinking, or does the writer actually have some inside information? It would be disappointing if this rumor spiraled out of control based upon some offhand remarks by Iger (the same question could've been asked about any land and his response would've been the same) and a blog that is presenting its own wishful thinking...

The quote from the site that shall not be linked is a theoretical proposal for Disneyland, which is being pro active about Potter moving into California.

The DG blog often comes across like a fortune teller. They say a bunch of vague things, and tie together rumors that they've read on various Disney forums, resulting in a typically meaningless article consisting of random thoughts.

If a newbie were to stumble across Iger's comments, and any number of the big forums, they could easily come to the conclusion that all of this stuff really is happening....and if they read a site like DG, they'd buy it, hook, line and sinker.

That is good to hear. If WDW does not feel a need to show Uni who's boss, at least DL does.
Perhaps WDW can catch a free ride on the fighting spirit of DL! Shared development and production costs, plus Anaheim's creative drive, could mean great things for WDW.
