I mean, backgrounds have been a thing for all of photography. Solid colors or patterned backgrounds are loved by many for portraits too. So, with the advent of social media, people have taken to finding these backgrounds in real life. It's not really a fan, just another term for something that already exists.
I mean it’s Disney world, I’m sure there are better backdrops for the pictures people have got to send out and show everyone where they are at. It’s not like they are in any town USA with nothin the background but a Starbucks. Oh wait... Guess I’m old, don’t get this at all.

It's a shame that a pavilion in Epcot donned that same purple scheme several years ago...And it means nothing anymore...

This explains all the people taking pictures in front of boarded up doors in pastel colors on deserted side streets in the French Quarter last week. I was extremely confused. There were at least three groups posing in front of doors and painted walls.

So is this why the Main Street Theater got cancelled? TDO heard the cries of millions of Instagram people, thought, "we can make money off of this!!!", and repurposed the money from the theater on... a wall? :cautious: (Just kidding... kind of)

Sorry, I just don't understand these kinds of things, I guess. Being 45 is apparently not cool, not hip, and not modern enough to comprehend the vapidness of taking a selfie in front of various walls and posting them to social media. To think, I used to try to take pictures of buildings and architecture at WDW from new and unique angles, with cool lighting, etc. "I just wasn't made for these times..."

I learned about this the past week I was there when I saw the hat for sale and had no idea. I’m happy to say my 19 year old daughter didn’t either.

There are about three things I would love to say, but all three would likely get the post deleted or worse, as has seemed to happen more lately around here.

So instead...

How ‘bout them walls! (I guess?)

It should be noted that Disney did a whole blog post on all the popular instagram walls around property just a few months ago... go take pics here and be one of the "cool kids"! ;)

Again I’m proud to say that my daughter found that blog and then committed to finding each of those walls and taking pictures with them making fun of them.

She may be the age of a millennial, but thank Dream Finder she doesn’t act like one.

EDIT TO ADD: as we came upon each and every one of these #*%% walls, there were people taking pics at them. Sometimes a line waiting.

I again would love to say about three things here.
