News Tomorrowland love

Did anyone else notice that the core speedway building itself got a paint job alongside the logo on the track? I seem to remember it being based around a purple theme, but now it's a cyan with a similar shade/palate to the new tomorrowland style.
Yep, I don't think I posted pictures of it but along with the reworked track they're touching up the entire ride. I think Martin said something about 2 stages for the Speedway if they go with the Tron plan:
- Re-route and cleanup first
- Possible Tron overlay if the money doesn't disappear

Picture moving billboards and advertisements for Tomorrowland attractions (current and old) as well as signage for futuristic products. It'd give the area a lot more kinetic energy and excitement to it.
That's already been pictured for us... crossing that technology with the long-distance MagicBand readers will likely lead to something like this...

As much as people hate/fear targeted advertising, I actually think it makes sense for everyone.

First, I'm not a fan of advertising. I'll happily pay for an app for my phone rather than using the one that's free but pesters me constantly with ads. I'll pay for the upgraded streaming service with no ads. I really don't want to waste my time with ads AND at the same time, I don't mind paying the people providing the service to me. If the service is worth it, I keep subscribing.

That being said, targeted ads make a lot of sense. If I'm going to watch an ad wouldn't it make more sense for both the seller, the ad company, and me, to see an ad I'd actually be interested in? I certainly don't have to buy the product. It makes no sense to show me an ad about tampons. That's a waste of the seller's money. It does make sense to show me ads about photography. I'm into photography. That targeted ad gets the seller's message to me and gets them the most bang for their buck while, at the same time, gets me an ad of something I may be interested in so I'm not wasting my time on a tampon ad.

But is targeted advertising and billboards a "theme"?
Unfortunately it does seem to be our future...

No. But it can be part of an overall process to change it up.

If it makes sense, sure it can. But they just seem to slap paint up ... it makes it appear even more of a mess, IMO, as much as I like the pops of color

Like the kaleidoscope of colors did with Future World? It just made it even uglier ...

Not that they have to, but it'd be nice if they explained it all ... but my guess is even they don't know ;)

I shouldn't be left with the impression they're just slapping left over paint all over and calling it a re-theme ... just saying ... (they're just simply updating the former colors with new colors ....)

None of it says TRON to me, or even "80s" ... so what are they going for? I know the entire land isn't finished but it's still very piece-meal and creating even more of a mess. You have different signage walking down the metal sci-fi entryway, you have pops of colors on building, a barebones speedway with a new paint scheme, the sterile white of Space Mountain, the Carousel color scheme ... it all still feels like a mess. It's not coming together at all, IMO. But that's just me :)

Wondering if they will do the line details like they did on CoP. Those add and help join those together. Thinking a little of that detail might go along way.

At the very least, it will reduce public drunkenness in Tomorrowland... the paint scheme will induce nausea in anyone already drunk.

Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
