Either way I suppose it's good news . . .

Also: The cancers that the CM's and possibly Guests will develop long-term due to the many carcinogens in the fumes from the vehicles.Tomorrowland Speedway needs to go for a variety of reasons:
1. It doesn't fit in Tomorrowland thematically.
2. It's low capacity.
3. It's not environmentally friendly.
4. It's not as popular as it once was.
5. It's build on a huge chunk of land that could be used for a major Tomorrowland expansion project.
That's just what comes to mind right off the bat.
Also a comment on the fumes... while electric would be great for many reasons already mentioned, there is something about the smell of the exhaust that gives it some realism. That's what it smells like in the infield/pits of a race. That's what it smells like at a go-kart track even. Is it good for anyone or the environment? Surely not... but quite honestly a drive in rush hour or, hey, waiting in line at say the entrance to parking at a Disney park, really isn't any better. LOL!
Holy bold and underline... you're passionate! LOL! But yeah to me this attraction was never really part of Tomorrowland and more fit into Fantasyland. Even the day it opened it wasn't in anyway "tomorrow" themed. One of the issues that people have is that is what it smells like in the infield/pits of a race, NOW, that's what it smells like at a go-kart track, NOW, that's what it smells like at rush hour, NOW, that's what it smells like at the entrance to parking at Disney, NOW! This is supposed to be TOMORROWland, not Todayland!

No thanks on a Cars overlay. If they had to do a retheme, I'd go with Motorcity.
Of course, I'd much prefer to see the space used for a Tomorrowland Expansion.
I couldn't agree more with this statement. Sure it may not be anything amazing for adults but for little ones, that first time they can do this and see over the wheel (lol) or the first time they can drive one all by themselves, it's awesome!I like the ride (we do it at least once every trip), and it seems to be a kind of "rite of passage" ride for children.
New Fantasyland looks amazing, until you look to your right and see Space Mountain. A few large buildings dropped where Tomorrowland Speedway sits. Theme it to Fantasyland on one side (castle walls?) and Tomorrowland on the other (Video Walls?) then throw a dark ride or a show or both in there and call it a day.
