That actually would be a really great idea. Disney World doesn't have a toboggan ride, and the wood + water element would allow it to blend nicely with the islands woodsy atmosphere. Toboggan rides are thrilling yet also tame enough that the whole family can enjoy. Again, you have the logistical issue of how to get a mass amount of people to and from the island, but I'm sure they could get around that somehow.
The only place that I could see mermaid AA's in POTC is with the skeletons (gnawing on a bone perhaps?). If mermaids are really on the way, I hope that it's not just another mist projection.

Pirates Lair sorta/kinda works in Disneyland because POTC is directly across the way in New Orleans Square. To try to create a pirate overlay on TSI would clash as much as flying carpets in Adventureland. As far as "The Grid " is concerned, I seriously doubt that he was referring to Tron as that would make even less sense in or near Frontierland.
Yes to the first, nope to the second.
Also, if the Liberty Belle is permanently anchored to Liberty Square, I will literally punch a TDO executive in the face. I know I'm in the minority, but I find the Liberty Belle to be one of the most relaxing, fulfilling, and authentic rides in the whole park. There's no other ride that let's you just... breathe... quite like the Liberty Belle (except for maybe the PeopleMover). I ride it every single time I enter the MK, and can't imagine the park experience being the same without it.
The Fantasyland expansion is great, and an update to Tom Sawyer Island would be nice, but Tomorrowland is more like Yesterland, it needs the update more than anything.
Yes to the first, nope to the second.
Any way they could instead lengthen the caverns to be more like the California version???
Not sure how I feel about this and how it fits.
The first scene is exactly where I was thinking, just before or after the mist effect! This could be just a few tails in 1 place & a few top-half mermaids in another place? Maybe a mermaid also sitting on a rock further from the passenger boats?
Oh now I'm all excited about this!!
From what I understand, access to the island is one of the main reasons guests do not go there. Mooring the riverboat and building a bridge would solve that issue.
A couple mermaid AAs for PotC would be OK I guess. The only downside is that they will be constant reminders of what I consider to be a burnished turd of a movie -clearly the weakest in the franchise.
I knew about the movie, I should of said "what about the lone ranger movie coming out". While not a proven modern movie franchise...it is a proven product none-the-less.
As far as the Liberty bell...i'll get flamed for this, but i've been to WDW 9 times over the last 30 years and have yet to jump aboard.
I wouldn't mind so much them parking the boat and making use out of it. A meet and greet or a character dining spot does make sense. Heck if they docked it they could almost make the bridge through the center of the ship to TSI. Then most people in the park would have to visit it.
This would also allow them to fill in the ROA when it ducks past the sightline and use land behind HM for dark ride area. if they did this, they could expand any area to the size of what the new fantasy land is....and increase capacity substantially.
Yes to the first, nope to the second.
