is it that bad this its not an attraction per se? I mean, theres about as much to do on TSI as there is in the SFR tree minus the constantly moving line.
With 4 parks and universal right next door spots like this are a nice breath of fresh air when the rest of your day is filled with lines, rude people and a lot of forced "attraction" on you.
I say leave it be, or do minimal freshening up to it to appeal to the new generations, because the youth of today often take moments of solitude for granted. that in itself isnt a bad thing, because for the guests like me who like a moment or two to catch my breath, TSI is a great spot.

Geez, lots of short tempers here.

Yes, there is a parallel thread, but it is not specifically about Tom Sawyer Island, and a quick search requires reading through threads to find a specific discussion. So, I would not have noticed a duplicate thread by scanning the board. No need for what might be construed as a snarky remark - please remember that your tone cannot always be conveyed by the written word.

BUT, there is still no reason to reply rudely, with personal attacks. Even if you feel insulted, and even if you have been insulted - it only turns what could be an interesting discussion into an argument.

I didn't start the attack, I only emphasized what Marni had stated already before and because the other person involved is a new member I just wanted to point out that we have a discussion that definitely is about TSI, It's even mentioned in the thread headline.
And I am not short tempered. I just don't appreciate being insulted by newbies.

So, I am reading through his thread and everything seems kosher and then I get to this post and the next with Spike and feel I have missed something. No one seems snarky....are there deleted posts???

Anywhoo.... I like TSI very much, it is a refreshing change of pace and since a lot of others don't like it so much the better and more peaceful. But, they need to add back the playground stuff they removed and could always add in more caves and stuff to explore.

Yep, there are deleted posts. And I definitely share your opinion about TSI. They should also open Aunt Pollys again, it added a touch of hospitality to the location.

I thought there must be but I also thought that there is still a box that said "post deleted" or something to that effect. Guess not.
I seem to remember older versions of the forum software skipping numbers when posts were deleted but I could be mistaken. I think there is also a feature where posts can be hidden vs outright deleted and that might account from the skipped numbers I recall seeing.

Personally, I love TSI. The first time my husband and I ever went over there was this past January -- neither of us had ever done it as kids. I think it's so fun to explore. Plus it's shady and relatively uncrowded. And the caves are so creepy; they're great! I would love to see an eatery open up over there, though. Every time I look at Aunt Polly's I think about how wonderful it would be to sit there and eat.

Agreed! Love TSI!

I noticed that nobody is concerned that TSI is not handicap accessible. Wow, that's a sad commentary on today's society.

I don't agree. And I know (I lived it) that people in Walt's day, and even 30 years ago, had far less concern about the needs of the handicapped than people do today. Today's society has many faults, but they are light years ahead of my and my parent's generation as far as accommodating those with special needs. Still a long way to go, but things are definitely better.

I agree, things are much better. Having had a handicapped parent, I tend to be more aware of the improvements over the years.

However, to see someone comment that they enjoy TSI because there aren't any ECV's on it, is callous and hurtful to all.

During my initial post, I had focused in on updating TSI, making it more in tune with the 21st century, along with evening access via a bridge (and lighting). The handicapped point was brought up by a post, though in a negative connotation.

That I agree was a callous, and uncalled for, remark. But fortunately, not a view shared by most people. I hope.

I also like the evening idea, but am afraid that many people would behave badly. :lookaroun But it would be hard to retheme an attraction based on the 19th century into a 20th century one, and one that is based upon climbing, squeezing through a cave, walking along a barrel bridge, etc into one that is 100% handicapped accessible.

Impossible? No. Likely? No. At least not today.

I love TSI. I have ever since I was little. It's the one place where you can use your imagination and explore and not have so much noise and activity shoved down your throat. I love all the shade, it makes it a great place to cool down. Now that I have my own kids I love to take them over there in the afternoon where they can release some energy and not be stuck in a line for another ride. We've spent hours over there already and when the kids were really little we took a "time out" over on TSI instead of heading back to the hotel for a rest. I think kids get plenty of stimulation everywhere else in the parks and TSI should be left alone. I think people forget that kids like the adventure of the caves and a barrel bridge. There's nothing wrong with an area that is left more "rustic".

I totally agree. My son LOVES it. He would stay there all day if we let him. Plus, my daughter enjoys hunting for the paint brushes.

Why should you actually care about such things if you cannot even follow simple rules for a forum and continue your antisocial behaviour insulting other people for nothing?

This argument is over, and it is not to be continued anywhere public, including one of you posting remarks on a visitor message board, resulting in a response by the other here.

Again, I don't care who started it, it's over.

I wouldn't if "Badwolf" would not have continued by posting an insulting message on my profile. He continues to insult, I only respond because I don't appreciate to be insulted by a newbie without manners.
