Rumor Tokyo Disneyland Splash Mountain Retheme Discussion

I've seen Pocahontas in Disney Sea as a live actor meet and greet. If splash was rethemed this would make more sense based on location than the Lion King or Moana but saying that I'd like the ride to stay as is

I agree that Pocahontas would fit better with the surrounding area around Critter Country than either of those, plus Moana should be saved for TDS.

If OLC would like to follow the trend and also remove Rivers of America which always closes early, I could see it being possible and it could be a huge plot to insert an IP.

I imagine in the future where the area of Haunted mansion,dumbo,backstage,entire critter country and the old OLC offices and ROA. Could hint at a major expansion and could be the biggest expansion for Disneyland’s history.

and also Adventureland could also be receiving a facelift will we ever know. possibilities are endless.

Oh well we can all imagine.

Actually, OLC was on board with bringing Cars to ROA for a while, but eventually changed their mind. They have always wanted RSR, and I hope they build it because it’s a great ride. I just hope they don’t ruin ROA like they did in MK.

At Tokyo Disneyland, they primarily have only office and backstage buildings left that could be repurposed for expansions. However, OLC would need to find space outside the resort to build new structures. At Tokyo DisneySea, there are still a few expansion areas available, such as the one where Frozen Ever After was nearly built and the space next to Midway Mania. Knowing OLC, they would likely demolish existing structures like Rivers of America before tearing down those office buildings at Disneyland.

I believe they said something to the effect of “we will consider it” which is polite Japanese business talk for “no thanks”.

WDI is going to have to come up with something truly magnificent if they are going to get OLC on board with replacing Splash and RoA. “Cars Monster Truck Rally” and “Tiana’s Six Flags Adventure” are not going to cut it.

Aside from the lack of space, OLC also seems disinterested in clones now. A Mickey-themed attraction would be a huge hit at the park though.

Can't say I blame them. Runaway Railway has a lot of elements I like but it's ultimately a subpar ride in a spot it doesn't belong in (at least at WDW).

Runawaway Railway replaced the thesis statement for the entire park. As a standalone ride it’s decent if there’s enough space for it.

Mickey is the quintessential disney IP and there is no better single ip than mickey to represent a movie park or entering cartoon worlds. The only issue is that it should not have replaced GMR.
