This is good stuff the way the Stanford/Bama and Maryland/Syracuse games ending. You can't ask for better, more exciting ball. It was great the one game ended and CBS went right to the other. You couldn't even catch your breath.
I hope people now realize St. Joe's deserved that #1 seed. There in the sweet sixteen and teams like Gonzaga and Stanford are will be at home watching the rest of the tourney on TV like the rest of us. LETS GO ST. JOE!!!!!!!

If Pacfic wins, throw them and Nevada out and any of the 14 remaining teams could be national champs this year (also assuming that UAB doesn't beat KY).

Holy cow, what a run Vandy made toward the end to knock out N.C. State. That intentional foul call helped a lot, of course, but they hit everything they threw up in that last 2 minutes.

Not sure what it is, but I'd like some of it. Crazy, isn't it? A state known more for its football has two teams in the Sweet 16. What a wild tournament this has turned into.

Now that we have our Sweet 16 set and my pick for the NC has lost, I'll re-pick and put the curse on Illinois. They are playing good ball right now and I don't think they should be a #5 seed. Heck, anything can happen now in this tournament. Illinois and Pittsburgh in the finals.

Needless to say, there is a mass suicide watch today in the state of Kentucky. Hats off to UAB. I really thought when UK took the lead, had the ball up by 4 with two minutes left, that the Cats would pull it out. I may be mistaken, but I think that is the first game they lost all year when the difference was under 6 points.

Now time to root for Xavier. Go Musketeers. Seeing how close that is to Mouseketeers, I think Xavier should be the Official, Un-official team of WDWMagic.com

One last comment from the KY-UAB game--how about the steal and over the head-backwards blind pass that guy made to his brother? I thought he was throwing the ball away when he did that, but once I saw what happened, I had to call the whole family in to watch the replay. My wife (who has no basketball interest and knowledge and is winning her bracket) was even impressed with the play.

needless to say, I had a HUGE smile on my face all day yesterday.

how.bout.them.illini.

there was a big article that came out after the game, saying that the Cincy players were trash talking before the game, saying how "they are ready to play DUke" etc.

thanks for lighting the fire under our arses, it worked. What a great performance.

and bring on Duke.

ok, enough about my game.

The other games were fun to watch, the UAB game was great. and who knew that boys from alabama could play basketball.

I was bored out of my mind watching the Wisconsin game though. and in front of a home crowd, they have no intensity, don't run plays for Harris, and otherwise look like the rest of the big ten. (hey, I admit the Big Ten is down this year.)

 :sohappy: That's pretty good. The "other team" from Cincinnati is playing some pretty good ball. Hard to believe, two months ago, this team was 10-9 and heading for the NIT at best.

After a few days off to catch our breaths and give our hearts a break, it is again Thursday, meaning more basketball! Here is tonight's lineup.

7:10 PM ET CBS
(6) Vanderbilt (23-9) 23-9
(2) Connecticut (29-6) 29-6

9:40 PM ET CBS
(8) Alabama (19-12) 19-12
(5) Syracuse (23-7)

7:27 PM ET CBS
(3) Pittsburgh (31-4) 31-4
(2) Oklahoma State (29-3) 29-3

9:57 PM ET CBS
(4) Wake Forest (21-9) 21-9
(1) Saint Joseph's (29-1)

and my predicitions. Vandy will keep it close, but UConn will win. Alabama has a great match up with Syracuse, that is a tie. Okey Stateand Pitt is tough, I will pick Pitt, and Wake upsets St Joe. :)

now lets see how well I do......

I had forgotten all about our little thread here.

I think it's neat that the Phoenix bracket has the chance of seeing either an all Big East final or an all SEC final. Of course, I think Syracuse-UConn is probably a more anticipated (and more likely) matchup than 'Bama-Vandy. I think 'Bama will keep it close, but I'm gonna take the Huskies and the Orange in a Big East showdown on Saturday.

In East Rutherford, I'll take St. Joe's to narrowly win, but I think that whoever wins the other game will go to the Final Four. I'll say Pitt (since I seem to be in a Big East mood today).

(Tomorrow: FoD's Illini against my Blue Devils in Atlanta.) :lookaroun

wow, I am impressed with 'bama right now. my future in-laws are fans, so we got a TON of phone calls last night so they can brag (and give us luck on the illini game, so maybe the two teams could eventually match up).

tonights games are.

illinois vs duke.

and I don't care about the rest. :)

Wilt, I promise no matter what the outcome of the game is, I will be respectful and nice to you. I may be bitter though. :)

#3 Texas (25-7)

#10 Nevada (25-8)
#3 Georgia Tech (25-9)

aaaand of course (go figure, it's the last one of the night)

#1 Duke (29-5)

You've given me no reason to think you'd act otherwise. :)

And just because my guys are a #1 doesn't mean I take anything for granted. They're the last team left from the Big Ten for a reason. It very well could be me who's a little peeved tonight.

(Wow, this sounds nothing like most "discussions" I read about sports on message boards.)

*throws in a 'your coach sucks' just for the hell of it*

j/k
