Tinkerbell's flight...

Oh... riiiight. I forgot that Cinderella has a clothes line hanging from her castle to do the wash... and Tinker Bell can't fly when it's windy due to the risk of being blown into the giant bug zapper that's hung in the tree of life. :lookaroun

EIDT, minus smart alec mode -- she is, indeed, a video inside the spectromagic floats.

I always thought it was the line for her cable tv. LOL

:ROFLOL: I think I read that it is there to keep her from getting lost...

I love watching Tink fly from the castle if not for me (and I do love it) to watch and listen (oohs and aahs) to the reaction of the people standing around that have never seen her and remember my first reaction the first time I saw it.

That's what I thought too; it was so the prince could get ESPN.:D

Yes, he enjoys watching the Jousting tournaments on ESPN.

But seriously, the wire is the map that Peter Pan left for Tinkerbell so she could always find her way back to Neverland. However, being a little flighty and headstrong, it also serves as a sensor for her. If Tinkerbell feels the need to get ornery and not fly back to neverland each evening, we can shut her lights off if she flies more than 3 feet from the wire. Yes, it is true, not all of the lights on Tinkerbell are from her fairy-ness. See, now you've made me go and ruin the magic.

I've been to WDW twice in two years and both times was surprised to see someone dressed as Tinkerbell gliding down a (pretty visible) cable. This time my brother came with us and he remembers that when we last went (several years ago), Tink was animated and somehow amazingly "projected". Are we misremembering?? I hate Tink's wings with green lights on them and the fact that she's obviously too big to be a pixie.

I've read through this one, and wish I had an answer! I've been going to WDW since 1972...and the only fireworks I ever remember seeing is Wishes! I don't remember if we always left early to "beat the crowd", or if I just plain don't remember the fireworks. Oh...and I asked my mom a few weeks ago. She doesn't remember either!

Yes, I know Believe is not around any more but when it was didn’t Tink make two appearances? Once at the beginning (the non-human Tink), then again near the end (the human Tink doing a fly by). I have video of it, but you cant make out too well how the first Tink is done.

Could the original poster be confusing DL and WDW? Doesn’t Believe at DL have a non-human Tink?

Of course they have a non-human tink- she's a fairy, not a human!! But Tink flies at both WDW and DL (did in Believe, and still does in Remember). In fact, she is a bit of a show-off in Remember at DL- she flies up, down, forwards and backwards!

She is real. Ask my daugher. Last year after we watched her fly over us my daughter turned to me and say," Mommy, Tinker Bell is real. I just saw her tiny little shoes." She then held up her fingers to show me how little her shoes were.

Yea the first tink was nothing more than a light that went back and forth on two poles which are now the huge pin wheels for the "Laughing place" segment of Remember. Kind of a what lead up to what Tink now does in Remember.

On a random note, when I was little, I wanted to be the Tinkerbell who flew before the fireworks when I grew up. That was always my dream job. The first time I got to do zip lines was pretty much spent imagining myself in her costume jumping off the castle, lol.
