Time for the war to begin.

Universal have limited space on their existing property but I’d like to see

-Grinch is pretty timeless and a good property they could do more with. They need to bulk out Seuss Landing so that it isn’t a walk through to anyone without kids...a great themed family coaster, or dark ride, would be an absolute treat. I’d also like a bit of a refresh of Cat in The Hat as there’s some wasted opportunity there.

-Remove Doctor Dooms Fearfall, and they have significant expansion room for another E-Ticket. I know everything’s limited and difficult when it comes to Marvel, but nobody is thinking ‘fantastic 4’ when they think of Marvel. Improve the facades and drag it out of the early naughties. So much potential for good themed dining wasted here.

- Remove the Toon Lagoon theatre and put sonething, anything there. Universal can’t do shows, this theatre has been here since 2000 and has it ever hosted anything good?

-Drag Jurassic Park out of the noughties, improve AAs on River Adventure...more things like Raptor Encounter. The area needs to feel more alive. Get rid of the tacky carnival games that have infested this Island in particular.

- I know it’s new, but Kong has wasted potential. Work on improvements to the story at the very least.

Desperate for them to put some resources into something other than Potter, because Toon Lagoon, Marvel, Seuss and Jurassic Park are all looking very dated in my opinion.

Speaking of Toon Lagoon, didn't the Popeye characters used to meet and as non-speaking costumed characters before turned into a face character along with Betty Boop? Because I remember seeing older footage of IOA from the early 2000's and they looked more better that way. I think they also had a short-lived trolley show featuring various comic strip characters.

After the fact surveys showed not many understood Escape was a whole resort that also had a new park. Many thought it was just a park, a new hotel, even a travel package. Marketing fail 101.
I think this was also back when guests used to think IOA and Universal Studios were in the same park despite being a few blocks apart and separate parks.

That just shows how different people are. I always enjoy Shrek. I especially love the preshow where so many Disney related jokes are thrown about. I will hate to see it go, but, such is the world of Theme Parks.
Most guests hate the attraction because of how bad the seats are. Most of the time it drowns out the audio heard in the show.

My favorite video on the attraction is by Some Jerk With A Camera who reviews Disney and Universal attractions and is very amusing.

I love Universal as much as the next guy (the Horror Makeup Show is probably my Top 5 things to do in Orlando and I always recommend it to anyone who'd listen) but man, whenever people tell me that they're a great competition for Disney I can't help but remember my mother telling me that she wanted to get out of Islands of Adventure because 'everything here shakes' and 'we've done everything we wanted to do'... after being in the park for four hours.

So bring on this war. And personally, there's only so much you can do with the 'screens and vehicle that moves slightly' format, guys. Can we get something different?
I'm expecting things to change at Universal once Shrek is finally gone at Orlando. If Martin's hints can tell us.

I really miss when Cat in the Hat was basically a secretly intense thrill ride, lol. Then some incidient occured and now the spinning on the ride was drastically reduced.

I remember that! I was always so surprised at how crazy the spinning action was. Unsurprising that they toned it down though :(

This is all such exciting news! I can't wait to see what both resorts have up their sleeve :)

Disney doesn't need the baggage that comes with Sea world. Nor does it need to be running a major marine research institute like Hubbs.

Open a 5th gate, yes. And expand the footprint of the existing parks instead of rejiggering existing space.

More cash rooms, defintely yes, especially moderates since that whole section of CBR is now DVC. And Values that are more like the renovated rooms at Pop, not the tired Motel 6 All Stars.

A comparable Halloween Horror Nights, god no.

i believe martin was alluding to the fact that the SCREENZ stigma has already been acknowledged internally and that the fruits of this acknowledgement will bare fruit overtly as that SCREENZ ride is replaced with something that is not.

F&F, however...

I would have a question then. Shrek is a theater, it is not all that huge. Other then making a night club with a slanted floor what are they going to do with that space. If it's tear it down and build a coaster that loops into the clouds, which they have to many of already, I'm at a loss. Perhaps a different IP movie set up... but, the thing still attracts some pretty large crowds whenever I have been there.

Shrek is actually two theatres. The whole facilities footprint is larger than you think.

Plus Transformers told them how to go upstairs...

Thanks for the clarification! The fact that all of that "new" property would be more or less interconnected would really make for a nice chunk of land for them! Looking at Google Maps, appears that all of that "green" land is current undeveloped land, so I guess the litigation must either be with the current/previous landowner or possible with the county pertaining to building on "protected" land?

Or land that borders I-4 And thus is easement for the interstate.

Well RIP to WDW. Based off of what they announced compared to what Uni has up its sleeve there is no comparison. Unless WDW has some serious expansions planned I think there is trouble.

I don't think WDW is in any danger of dying....

No way is the Vacation Kingdom Of the World in any danger.

Yeah. A location that is responsible for half of the 110 million visitors to Florida isn't in any danger of folding. Unless there's a major world event, like a war....

They're absolutely in danger of losing billions.. Lets not pretend that universal has succeeded in pulling guests away already even if its only for a day or two. A special addition may end up costing them 3 or 4 days. They will probably always be number one but that gap is closing and its their market share that is getting lost, no one else.

Adding Harry, increased Uni's gate clicks, but, did almost nothing to Disney's. In fact I think I remember someone on the boards saying that it actually increased Disney's census. Just saying. Give the public more choices and more will show up. Build it and they will come!
