Indeed. At least for young kids, which seems to be TDO target demo more and more.

My 5 year old is making the plane trip to Tokyo with us in 12 days. She did Paris at 5 months.

Long plane rides aren't an issue and require less planning than is required to book FP+ at WDW.

Don't let a place ride be an excuse. If that's what's stopping you, you're cheating yourself.

Right.

Conversely, WDW's hotels haven't seen an occupancy rate this low since the abysmal post-9/11 years of 2002 and 2003 when they were just begging people to come visit.

Any chance Disney will lower their hotel prices to reflect "what the market will bear"? ;)
Nope...they will simply increase room rates to try to make up for the lost income.

You know what's funny?

Most of the US hotel industry is focused more on driving up occupancy at the moment rather than increasing average daily rates dramatically. WDW is unique though so who knows what they will do.

As a CM, I'm not seeing any of that money. Our contracts are up at the end of March, and I will guarantee you that Disney will cry poor again just like the last time.
If your employer abuses you, change employers. Yes I know that's not popular around these parts but still.

Maybe I should say - if your union isn't getting you what you think you are worth, what is the purpose of being unionized ( if you are indeed unionized).

i hate to say it...but at 100 bucks a day you keep the people that you don't want out of there. I live in pittsburgh and it takes 25 min to get into our theme park through metal security gates, bag checkers and other fun stuff and they have 1/100th of the guest that disney does. If you were selling tickets for 10 bucks you would see people in their jammies walking around mainstreet with their butt cracks blowing in the wind...just saying.

Have you been lately? We pretty much see that already.

Yeah, it only cost $2B to get this:

To summarize on the left is a CM standing at the back of a line (that never existed before) holding a sign saying FP wait time 15 minutes
We experienced that this past August. The CM holding the sign at the end of the line was all the way down to the band stage by the bathrooms. They totally stopped taking those in Stand-by until they could get the FP line back to the entrance of the Safari.

They are never leaving what they believe is the best place on Earth for some inferior place where the people may speak a different language...
Have you been to WDW lately? It's hard to find anyone who DOES speak English. At point I was stuck in a sea of humanity at Hollywood Studios and I realized that my son was the only person with blonde hair out of probably 500 people.

We are Teamsters. And the job market in central Florida does not allow you to just change employers.

I knew I wasn't going to get rich working at WDW, but they could at least pay a living wage to the cast that make the magic everyday.

So they didn't even wait for a new parade and attraction to open before jacking up the price....

Meanwhile at epcot we are paying an extra $4 for a meet and greet with 5 hours wait times.

At Hollywood Studios we are paying an extra $4 for less entertainment/streetmosphere and no parade.

At animal Kingdom we pay an extra $4 for less entertainment, a soon to be removed parade and nothing. Uh new on the cards for years to come.

Not to mention as trained Disney parks / fast pass veterans we now get less fast passes in an everage day and spend longer in line.

B A R G A I N disney! Bargain!
