OK, been lurking a long time reading the forums here, first time actually posting, getting ready to start planning my trip, its still a ways off, not going till March, but just wondering, which is better, getting the tickets through AAA of getting a disney visa card and buying the tickets with that? and does the 10% disocunt on disney purchases with the disney visa apply to tickets? its going to be me and my girlfriend and i'm looking at a 7 day ticket with park hopper, thanx for any help.

I am not sure what the Disney Visa offers, we closed our account months ago, becasue they wanted to raise the interest rates.. I like the point rewards on it. we used it everytime we went on vacation to rack up points, then the following yr before we would go we would cash in the points to use to buy souviners.

We are AAA members and I know I called to see what kind of discount they would offer. It is 3 of us, DH, Me & DD-10. for a 4 day MYW ticket w/ water park fun & more, was not even a $30.00 savings. The other thing is they do not mail the tickets to you, you have to go to your local AAA office and pick them up.

I don't know. Would your sole purpose on getting the VISA be to get the tickets? I would check on that if I were you. If that is the case, maybe the AAA would be better if it gave you a good discount. Another thing you may want to try is to check with your work. If you are employed see if they have any offers. I know my work will offer discounted tickets.

I wasn't aware that there were ticket discounts with the Disney Visa, I thought it was just at World of Disney, etc. for merch?

I'm not sure what the AAA discount is, but if you book through them you can pay for the tickets using your Disney Visa and get the reward points anyway. They could also possibly try to help you find the cheapest package. Or you could try Mousesavers.com...lots of great money-saving tips on this site.

A perk by getting tickets through AAA is the Diamond Parking Pass. If you'll be renting a car, I recommend it. You get to park close to the park/TTA entrance (right next to Handicap parking). Easy in and easy out without having to wait for the tram (this is a blessing if you stay till park closing and leave with the rest of the herd).

I don't recall Disney Visa offering any discounts for park tickets. However I've ordered from undercovertourist.com in the past with success. They have great rates and great service.

As far as the AAA discount on tickets, each local office (or at least each region) sets its own prices, so you'll have to ask at your local office how much it will cost if you buy through them. My local office had a really stinky discount, amounting to only about 1% off.

I always use AAA. They are only slightly cheaper than booking yourself, but then you dont have to do any of the work. I am a Disney Visa card holder and no there is no discount. This year they did offer free dining for using the card, but than offered it to the general public three days later anyway.:veryconfu

You only get the Diamond pass when you book a package through AAA. If you just buy tickets, you do NOT get the pass. The pass does not give you free parking either, just a closer location up front. (Though the trams do not run to that section which means you have to walk.)

If you get a Disney Visa and get lucky with promotions you can rack up points really fast. I used it for everything and just paid it off bi-weekly and I managed to get about 400 points. My 10 day hopper only cost me a little over $100 out of pocket.

I've been checking out the prices at the Disney Stores. We have annual passes but we're going with our DD and her husband for Christmas and getting their tickets. We were thinking they were cheaper than AAA. Anyone know? :veryconfu
