MK Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

The ride is good and there are parts that are certainly improvements over Splash. Having said that, the Animatronics weren't working particularly well on the two rides I've had thus far. I'm 1 for 4 in working Mama Odie animatronics. I haven't seen Juju, and the indoor Tiana's and Louis's have been hit or miss.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to say that the second half of the attraction (the double drop and beyond) is better than Splash Mountain. I certainly can't say that they cheaped out on this. Aesthetically, the exterior of the attraction looks much better than Splash every did.

do we know the most common cause for a particular function not working properly on these animatronic? I remember reading earlier that it's the moisture in the air that isn't playing nice with the all electronic AAs. What is the fix overnight to repair it if the malfunctions are limited to a couple functions and not the entire AA?

They even took Splash out of the name. Wouldn't that fix it?? I mean, the bayous of Texas and Louisiana are known for their dry, non-humid climates.

Well… rode it today, mostly clean sheet.

Definitely a downgrade. Queue is an upgrade.

Feels like it got 80% the way there and just faltered.

Lots of noticeably broken effects despite never having ridden it.

Flickering big Tiana screen, b-mode Tiana, broken lift screen.

Tiana's needs its AA's to function properly more than Splash did.
The scenes in Splash worked even when static.

You can freeze the animatronics and turn off the dialouge in this moment and you'd still know that Br'er Fox was about clobber Br'er Rabbit while he's distracted laughing at Br'er Bear

The same can't be said for Bayou where the scenes turn into "Tiana and Louis stand behind a bunch of animals" when you turn off the music and freeze everything.

Exactly what I'm referring to, thank you for the images.
Each scene depicts motion, even in a still shot.
Each scene is like a storyboard.
With Tiana's, the scenes require exposition.

I really hope they drop it. When the afternoon 1pm VQ drops last the entire afternoon through park closing, it's a sign that there's not much demand to ride it. Also the average pace in the afternoon/night is like 2-3mins/BG, the fastest we've ever seen of any VQ for any ride.

But reliability issues and uptime are probably still the main reason why the VQ's still here, but I say just bite the bullet and deal with the queue dumps and guest complaints that come with it. It's out of ops hands at this point.

I don’t even think it’s 40% of the way there. Beyond the first part of the finale, what else is even in the ride?

The film gave them all of the ingredients (unintentional pun) to make a great ride.
They even had Tony Baxter on hand to show them how to do it.
And they blew it.
They blew it because they thought they knew better.

It truly is a stupendous feat to have blown this so badly when there was SO MUCH obvious potential for a BETTER experience.

Just stunning stupidity and ball dropping beyond belief…to have everything laid out perfectly ahead of them and then someone ( legal, ‘inclusion commitee’, etc.) decides instead to take an unexpected extreme turn off of the glistening waterway right into the weeds.

The mind truly boggles.
Tiana and her crew deserved better.
What could have been….
