Incidentally, remember when people were using the poor condition and breakdowns of the previous ride as one of the justifications for why it needed to be changed? Not the only argument, but it did come up quite a lot. Yeah...

I'm almost impressed with how quickly this ride fell to pieces and was essentially given up on. I had thought it would at least get a couple of years of decent operation and pretty meticulous maintenance before it was dropped and things started rapidly going downhill.

I know someone who rode Splash for the first/last/only time in its final month and told me he found it "creepy and I'm glad they're getting rid of it". Maybe Disney will change and start fixing it if they start hearing "Tiana’s is creepy its time to get rid of it"

And yet the verdict was in from the first YouTube POV before any guest ever took a ride through and saw a single malfunctioning animatronic. The ride stinks. A few broken AA’s, although embarrassing for a brand new ride, isn’t the main problem with this steaming pile of crap.

It truly is a stupendous feat to have blown this so badly when there was SO MUCH obvious potential for a BETTER experience.

Just stunning stupidity and ball dropping beyond belief…to have everything laid out perfectly ahead of them and then someone ( legal, ‘inclusion commitee’, etc.) decides instead to take an unexpected extreme turn off of the glistening waterway right into the weeds.

The mind truly boggles.
Tiana and her crew deserved better.
What could have been….

“Tiana’s Splash Mountain” would have been very easy. Keep the majority of scenes in tact but add some new AA’s in place of the Song of the South characters - change the music - you’re done.
