Absolutely. Wish they would have given us more critters for the dead space. After watching a video of Disneyland's version, it's clear that this retheme was indeed designed with that version specifically in mind.
I dunno, I think she's pretty prominent in the ride. Much more than the other main character of the movie, Naveen, if nothing else.not having Mama Odie more prominent is a complete waste
She's present, but stuck in the corner or in a hole while Tiana blithely bumbles on though life as a fashionista clothes mannequin.I dunno, I think she's pretty prominent in the ride. Much more than the other main character of the movie, Naveen, if nothing else.
No spoilers please but is it AMAZING!?
I’m assuming for you, no.No spoilers please but is it AMAZING!?
I just watched a ride through of the Disneyland version. I think it's much better paced to than the Magic Kingdom version, and there is a lot less dead space due to it being the smaller attraction. I also think because the log flume moves so fast, the "there's no story, it's just positive vibes" aspect works a lot better.
I always preferred the Magic Kingdom version of Splash Mountain to the Disneyland version because I thought Magic Kingdom did a better job telling the Brer Rabbit story, whereas the Disneyland version was too rushed to fully enjoy it. But since the story of Tiana's Bayou Adventure is its weakest aspect, this actually turns into a blessing in disguise.
It still goes too fast past most scenes and dialogue is less understandableAfter watching a video of Disneyland's version, it's clear that this retheme was indeed designed with that version specifically in mind.
So, would we have been better off with the original plotline about Louis chasing after his trumpet?
I think people would still complain about the plot being too simplistic, but at least in the lost trumpet hypothetical, Naveen and other human characters could have been better incorporated. So, would we have been better off with the original plotline about Louis chasing after his trumpet?
They could’ve kept Splash’s storyline but done a character swap and it would’ve been 10x better than what we got. Tiana and Naveen (Brer Rabbit) go searching for a secret ingredient (laughin place) that only grows in the ‘dark bayou’ only to be perused by the ghost of Faciler (Brer Fox and Brer Bear) wanting revenge as they leave home in search of this ingredient. Faciler eventually catches them (Burrows Lament) and turns them (and us) into frogs before Mama Odie wards off the shadow man and transforms all of us back into humans with the final drop. Finale could’ve stayed as is.So, would we have been better off with the original plotline about Louis chasing after his trumpet?
