I'd like to think they're experienced enough in fake foliage to know what they're doing.Yeah, but I’m just imagining the direct sun warping the plastic/rubber they’re made up

They're titanium and deadly sharp, they will weather better than the rest of the landscaping.(I wonder how durable all these thin grasses are. will they start to wilt in the summer months)
"Hey Gloria, why is there a whole bunch of long grass growing in one random spot in the bayou and nowhere else?"View attachment 782610
"Hey Gloria, they finally covered that fence!"
"I knew they were the entire time!"
That doesn’t automatically make it look good on a giant artificial pile of green in a theme park.I have news for you: red clay exists in the South.
Totally agree. The top reminds me of a lamprey mouth. Crossed with the Predator and the talking Trash Heap from Fraggle Rock.I think it mostly looks good -- the only major thing that really looks strange to me is the mound at the top where the vehicles exit for the drop. I'm not sure what else they could have done there, but it looks quite odd.
The water isn’t wet enough! The nitpicking outrage is getting more and more desperate by the minute among those who had already decided they must hate this attraction.
What's your take on an opening date?
Why haven't they announced it yet, if it is June that's only a little over a month away. How long are they gonna wait?Officially? Still going with June 19.
CM previews before the media event. Then Golden Oak/other high-rollers. That might happen before the media event.
Then DVC, then AP after.
We should know more very soon. Once CM previews are announced, the rest of the schedule will be a lot clearer.

Seeing as the DAS changes officially and fully begins June 20, I would wager it’s June 20th (or the 21st which is a Friday.). I doubt the DAS change date was arbitrary. Why haven't they announced it yet, if it is June that's only a little over a month away. How long are they gonna wait?
The DAS changes go into effect May 20. June is for Disneyland.Seeing as the DAS changes officially and fully begins June 20, I would wager it’s June 20th (or the 21st which is a Friday.). I doubt the DAS change date was arbitrary.
People who pre register before their trip get the old rules, with a card good for 30 days from your appointment and you can pre register up to 30 days in advance. June 20 is the hard start date, May 20 is the soft start date. The DAS changes go into effect May 20. June is for Disneyland.
Right. Sure it might exist like that in nature (although I doubt anything in real life looks anything close to this ride exterior). But this isn’t nature. It’s a theme park. And part of what makes theme parks so appealing is the way they try to eliminate contradiction. And to me, the juxtaposition of the super green half of the facade that’s covered in flowers, with the half that’s still a rocky outcropping that just got painted with a little moss, is a big contradiction.I feel like you're completely missing the point; I'm just not sure it's intentional or not.
The juxtaposition is unnatural. It's a relatively minor issue, but the fact that both things exist in the south is a nonsensical response. It's bordering on being a complete non sequitur.
I'm happy with how it looks overall. That doesn't mean it's 100% perfect -- almost nothing ever is -- but it's not an attack on the attraction to point out some issues.
From what we've seen and heard thus far, I think this could be the best animated film dark ride they've built anywhere this century (better than Little Mermaid, FEA, Ratatouille, Tokyo Frozen, and BatB -- not sure if I'm forgetting any).
Honestly I can. It tracks with what I've been hearing.May 20+30 is actually June 19 but I really can’t imagine them using Juneteenth….
FEA which opened June 21, 2016 they announced the official opening date May 20, 2016.Why haven't they announced it yet, if it is June that's only a little over a month away. How long are they gonna wait?

As far as previews go, they know the reservations are going to sell out pretty quickly. It could be that they're trying to get their IT and park ops/staffing ducks in a row before making the announcement. Those are always things that can be improved. That's just a guess.
Putting aside the potential optics issues of doing it on that weekend. It's a federal holiday. Many people have a 3-day weekend.May 20+30 is actually June 19 but I really can’t imagine them using Juneteenth….
