The lighting underwater and beaming on the cypress trees keeps improving and is starting to look really pretty. The lighting near the top of the mountain still needs work. Looks like a basic and bright white spotlight at the moment. But it's clear they're still tweaking things, so I definitely wouldn't assume it's final yet.

They may be using the bright light to check positioning, shadows, etc. before they program the intended color, or adjust the brightness / dimmer.

I took over 75 photos today — here's the best ones.

There weren't any Imagineers riding during park hours, but they started cycling the logs right before the park closed, so I expect they're going to be doing full tests overnight.

The typical songs were playing — instrumental of Down in New Orleans on the first lift out of the load station, Down in New Orleans with lyrics in the pond out front, and Almost There on the outdoor section before the drop into into the show building.

Starting with daytime photos of the queue, where the poles are up for the radio show:

Cameras being enclosed in new rockwork — now it makes sense why they had temporary ones here for months, they were seeing if the angle was necessary.

And lastly a shot of the main entrance sign lit up tonight — this sign and the lights look great, if only the rest of the barn was on the same level.

And lastly, the nighttime lighting.

The lighting around the Bald Cypress trees seems final now, with a mix of blue and purple. This is undoubtedly the best it has looked after seeing them all in-person. This combo is the perfect brightness and looked gorgeous.

There are green fireflies in the trees as well that occasionally light up and are a perfect touch to the area, they really nailed the look on this section, including the water tower.

The orange on the water tower really makes it stand out, but isn't too bright. I love the combo between the blue and purple on the trees, and the orange on the water tower.

The light that was on the top tonight 100% seemed like a test. It was one big light sitting on top of Critter Co-Op aimed directly at the top and right side. I do not expect this to be the final look, especially since we saw many variations of the trees before the final look we have now.

Absolutely STUNNING. SO excited for this ride at night. I think everyone, no matter their opinion on the ride itself, can agree the lighting package for this is infinitely better than that of Splash!!
I only ever rode Splash at night and I loved the intimidation of the darkness and the sound of the rushing water. It was freaky to ride Splash at night because you never really wanted to get wet but you knew you would. That feeling is going to be gone with this, and I'll miss that.

But the colorful lights look nice, like most other colorful LED light displays Disney has done in the last fifteen years.

And the "Kilimanjaro Safari Sunset" spotlights are definitely temporary, no doubt about that.

I'm not privy to just how animated those audio-animatronics will be in order to make the distinction. What I know is they are not static or moving figures, which the ride will also have a number of. The 20 something advanced audio-animatronics will be the stars of the show. Only a handful of them are for Tiana, Naveen and Mama Odie. Louis has a few. The rest are of some of the critters.
This seems to now corroborate with what we’ve seen thus far. In terms of the degree of complexity each AA will have, I’d figure around half of the critters will be more static moving props. I predict the more moderately animated ones being the ones belonging to the Rara band, alongside the figures for Timoléon. Can’t say for sure though, but I’d have to imagine some of those larger critters will have multiple axis of motion

Could today's Friday news dump include the opening date? I feel like maybe it will. They could even use some of the nighttime shots we've seen from the past 2 nights in the promo or hype video.
I wouldn’t announce this on a Friday. Why try to hide it? Friday evening is when you announce Haunted Mansion is closing to become the 7th Coco ride at WDW.

operated better.
What do you mean? Disneyland is often cleaner than the museums, which are often dusty or dirty, or glass cases are fogged up and covered in handprints. Disneyland is clean, most litter is picked up almost immediately, and the glass is cleaned multiple times daily. If you're talking about crowds, Disneyland crowds (other than Fantasyland/Toontown lol) are often lower than those at the museums because it's bigger with more places for people to go.
