Knowing nothing about this topic, I looked it up, and it seems New Orleans was one of the first places in the US where Cuban jazz made an impact. This was in the early twentieth century.

I really enjoy Afro Cuban jazz. It instantly puts you in a good mood. My wife is Cuban. Think they should have stuck to the Dixieland Jazz for this ride though. With that said I’ll reserve final judgment after I ride and hear how all the music comes together.

I prefer queues that set the premise while you walk through without any "setup". Pirates, Big Thunder, 7DMT, Peter Pan, Rat, and Slinky come to mind. HM and ToT have a short setup then its on to the ride.

Others just get annoying over time. Pandora ("Oooh!") with all the jumping around etc., DINOSAUR, GOTG which everyone ignores and rushes to the doors on the right, etc.

Just have a nice themed queue and let me board, thank you. Presumably, Tiana's queue will be just like Splash's in that there's a story there if you want to look at it. Otherwise, just keep walking to the boarding area.
I think there’s a time and place for both. I especially appreciate pre-shows that either help make an otherwise more mundane experience feel special (Enchanted Tales) or add some length and spectacle to a shorter ride.

It's fine because everything about this is fine. Besides, the final scene is Mama Odie on her way to address the League of Nations on the rights of snakes to eat beignets, so they need to involve as many cultures as possible.

My guess is that it'll open with VQ and ILL. But close to 100% of that ILL capacity would've had to have been allocated to DAS, if the current trend continued.

I might be dumb, but,… when we went on Rise of the Resistance, we first had to secure the VQ spot at 07:00:001 like everyone else. So if you have a VQ and The slots were already allocated for that hour, how does DAS take up the LL? Wouldn’t all guests for that hour be accounted for in the math? Because of the VQ?

The big frog is "very copacetic." This was confusing for me so I Googled it:

I see that they are using a word that is thought to have started in casual southern African American speech, but I don't think this one works.

Lol we used copacetic in the 90’s growing up in California. It was surfer culture, like far Out and side and hella. I haven’t heard this word in so long 🙃

Yes because hand washing with soap and water and using carnauba wax on vehicles was only invented in modern times.
I didn't say invented.
What I mean is the ability and access of keeping a vehicle clean and shiny is much easier now than in the 1920's.
Car finishes last longer now too.

My understanding is that a certain amount of ride capacity is allocated for ILL, and the other for VQ. I could be wrong.

So, for example, Disney might say (and I really don't know what the numbers are): We're going to reserve 60% of the hourly capacity for VQ and 40% for ILL.

True they last longer now. But that is not to say that cars were always just kept dirty in the 20s. They were hand washed and hand waxed all the time. Carnauba wax usage was fairly common by the late 20s having been invented in 1910.

But it is a story set in the 1920s... So why aren't the Pirates using jet skis....because that is what people of the 21st century have... They should have stuck to the original story and not taken the character down this anachronistic road that does nothing to further the narrative... She could have owned the restaurant and been a great beloved boss lady... who had a loyal staff that she took very good care of... That would fit the original narrative...
There were many historical food co-ops in the south in the 1920s. It’s historical fact and they were advertised as such. A quick google search could show you that.

But, if it makes you feel any better the point still is to make money so she can still be the boss. There’s still a whole management structure…

Right...
But it's far easier to keep a car clean now than it was then.
Heck, it's easier now - due to spray on waxes, waterless washes etc., than it was 20 years ago.
I'll add that roads 'round the bayou were likely muddy, and often in poor shape meaning the average working truck was more dirty more often than modern day vehicles.
So maybe Tiana had this truck washed the day we're seeing it.

Again I agree everything is easier now in terms of car maintenance. But you're making it seem like in the 20s everyone kept their vehicle dirty because they didn't have modern conveniences, and that is just not true. In fact I would say more often than not that back then because a vehicle was still considered a luxury for most people they took better care of it. So hand washing and hand waxing would have been done on a regular basis, especially for a business that relies on it for deliveries.

So yeah the Tiana delivery truck could be just washed and waxed that day we're seeing it for the "party".

Cleanliness does not bother me so much, as it would be the romanticized version of a time period. The same way Magic Kingdom is/supposed ot be optimism and a surreal version of reality.

What many have an issue with, is these are the first time something this egregious is in plain sight of Frontierland.

I absolutely love that word. Our high school English teacher used it and everyone who took his class would start saying it.

So, for example, Disney might say (and I really don't know what the numbers are): We're going to reserve 60% of the hourly capacity for VQ and 40% for ILL.

So the VQ guests are all counted as SB, but then guests can grab LL in addition to the VQ and those riders count in the 40% (LL wasn’t around when we did RotR VQ)

If i have DAS and grab the VQ spot, it’s intended for me to be in the standby line, but because I’m DAS they let me go into the LL side and it shifts the numbers from the 60 to the 40. I think I’m tracking now. Thanks!!

I agree, enjoy it as well but feel like they are throwing too many different things into this to check off too many boxes, and its going to end up messy, like the queue stuff already is and over storytelling every character in this. Maybe not, will see. The Dixieland Jazz would have been just fine.

They can convert your VQ to a LL if you have DAS, but that shouldn’t change the wait times very much because they should ideally be able to very precisely control how many guests are in the queue (by releasing another BG or waiting to allow them entry).

Theoretically shouldn’t change anything because, as you said, all guests should still be accounted for, for each hour. In reality, it probably has a very negligible impact because they over call VQ quite a bit.

Yeah that’s becoming pretty clear unfortunately.
