Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

True, but I wouldn’t call NOS and surrounding areas Pirates Land just because it has a couple shops, an E Ticket, a whole themed island, and a restaurant that aren’t seasonal either.

So we re just going to discount the fact that the IP is spanning across three lands and nearly the entire west of the park at the moment? Also Blue Bayou isn’t pirate themed.

I'm not discounting anything, but its a bit hyperbolic to say that almost the entire west side has become "Tiana Land". As outside of these lights I'm not aware of any other Tiana reference in Frontierland, which you even admitted is probably gone after the holidays. So Tiana by and large is still limited to just BC and parts of NOS. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

As for Blue Bayou, it is literally on the ride, so by extension its part of Pirates even if not directly pirate themed.

So for comedy to work sometimes you have to embellish a bit. That’s pretty much understood. No matter how you chop it up Tiana / PatF has 3 shops, an E ticket, a restaurant and now seasonal decorations in Frontierland. Spanning (like I said earlier) a good portion of the West side of the park.

So who's gonna win Pirates or Tiana for supremacy on the west side? And do 999 ghosts have any say the situation?

Tiana for sure. She’s in 2- 3 lands (depending on the time of year), has 5 brick and mortar locations and they re all associated to a singular IP. TSI really has no connection to the pirates on POTC that we know of. It’s just all general Pirate theme as the ride was before they added Johnny Depp. I still don’t view POTC as an IP ride for obvious reasons.

Well you may not view POTC as an IP ride, but Disney sure does, and has tried to associate all pirate related things back to it for obvious reasons.

So if anything I think it would be a tie with Pirates encroaching from the east and Tiana encroaching from the west and HM stuck in the middle trying hard to remain relevant, and Pooh just trying to fend off both to stay alive.

Remember when we saw they had gotten rid of the Br'er Rabbit ornaments at the front of the logs, and that they didn't replace them with Louis/a frog? Just cut it out and made it generic?

Letting a small but important detail like this go is the epitome of modern WDI. There's no defense- it's a reduction without any upside. And it's the perfect representation of the attraction as a whole.

If I was on this project one of the biggest boldest bullet points I would have had is something that read….

*wherever there was something it needs to be replaced with something equal or better.

Obviously this may not be possible in EVERY spot but it’s a something that should have guided them. But maybe that’s just not possible with a “smaller”budget and a team that doesn’t know how to get the most bang for their buck.

They replaced entire vignettes with screens
A sculpted 3D You May Get Wet sign of Brer Rabbit with a flat sign with generic font.
The Brer Rabbit ornament with nothing making the logs like every other log ride in America.

The list can go on for days.

Why the actual f are they hanging Mama Odie bottles outside the Golden Horseshoe/Stage Door Cafe'?

Hopefully this is just for some kind of opening day/media related activities for the new attraction and then they are gone right afterwards. Otherwise, 🤮
Imagineers have to do something with the bottles that drank when designing the ride.
