Okay that looks stunning.
We rode it yesterday and I’m happy to report we enjoyed it also, I’d say it’s a tiny decline from Splash simply because there’s less to look at but the drops (and getting wet) are just as fun as ever. Seems wasteful they spent so much money on something that doesn’t improve the park though, at best it’s a wash IMHO, but at least they didn’t ruin it.I finally rode it and overall it was a good ride. The happy/joyful vibes honestly worked for me as it was a fun time. The plot was easy to follow, but not juvenile, which worked for the ride. I also liked the reveal of the bayou with the firefly trails on the wall and ceiling. My brother and I both ended up liking it slightly more than Splash after riding it. We’re going to try to ride again on Friday.
Here's another look, plus Naveen:
They really went all out.
Too bad the ride isn’t worth all of this hoopla.
This reminds of an artist showcase I went to go see once that a friend of mine who was helping an “up coming” singer invited me to. They rented a huge venue. She had seasoned musicians and writers on her songs -some that worked with Michael Jackson. She had a great producer and rich parents to throw money at all these people. And then she came out on stage and just totally bombed. But not like she just had an off night. She just flat out didn’t have the talent. This reminds me of that.
* - Limited movement figureAfter watching this video I was surprised to see that after the initial Brer Bear/ Brer Fox scene (where the first critter band is now) the figure count for both versions of the attraction are comparable. It’s really that first drop in with the geese and the frog sleeping on gator where you have the biggest loss. I’m just talking quantity here. Staging issues and inferior quality of the newer figures aside

And her in at least one of the two gowns from the film (seen here is the blue one she makes the wish wearing). It would have been better with the boat on top.
Let's just take a second to appreciate how "They sure can play!!" "They can play, no problem!" was talking about this performance-
I mean doesn't this sound grating and amateurish to anyone else?
And the travesty is, it replaced this beautiful song-
Or what they did to Laughin Place. They took such a beautifully done set and excellent sound design and reduced it to nothingness.

The orchestration and vocal harmonies are perfection in Splash Mountain.
Oh I see, you re trying to make me sad today. It is to weep.
Agreed. I don’t think they understood these kind of things and the details that made Splash great and therefore didn’t understand the assignment. To them it was as simple as Swap out Splash music with PatF music. People like PatF music. People will like this.
